7TH GRADE HEALTH PROJECT - BAGNATO
There are 2 parts to the project. You must complete both!
1)POWERPOINT (DUE-) - Students should complete a visual aid to help in their presentation. Students will use Google Slides. We will visit the computer lab for at least 1 day which will allow students time to complete a PowerPoint presentation. The visual aid should be a minimum of 8 slides.
2)PRESENTATION (DUE-) - Students must completea 2-5 minute presentation on their topic. Do NOT just read your PowerPoint! Please be organized and include eye contact with your audience and speak loudly and clearly. You may use note cards.
Project should attempt to answer the following questions;
- How is the disease transmitted?
- What are the symptoms?
- What causes the disease?
- Who gets the disease?
- How is the disease treated?
- Is there a vaccine?
- Where is the disease found?
- Is the disease fatal?
- How common is the disease?
- Who first discovered, or identified the disease?
- Is there a cure for the disease?
- Who found the cure?
- Is there another name for the disease?

Presentation Techniques
- Eye Contact: Maintain eye contact with members of your audience so they feel that you are speaking to them.
- Volume: Make sure you speak loudly enough for everyone to hear you. When appropriate, increase or decrease your volume when making an important point.
- Pronunciation: Speak at an even pace and clearly enunciate your words so your audience can understand what you are saying. Be careful not to rush. If you have trouble pronouncing a word, practice it so you avoid stumbling over it when presenting your report.
- Natural gestures: Stand straight and face your audience. Avoid moving your hands in a nervous or distracting manner. The natural gestures you normally use in conversations help you maintain a friendly but appropriately formal tone.
- Language conventions: The language you use should follow the rules of written English. Errors in grammar or inappropriate slang will distract listeners from your message.
