FCA is the public voice for family caregivers of adults offering assistance through education, services, research and advocacy programs in the local, statewide and national arenas.

KEY STAFF: BRIEF BIOGRAPHIES


Kathleen Kelly,
FCA Executive Director / As Director, Kathy oversees programs of the Bay Area Caregiver Resource Center providing direct services to families in the San Francisco Bay Area, California policy collaborations and the National Center on Caregiving. During her tenure the organization has grown from a grassroots program to a national organization that provides leadership on supporting family caregivers with best practice interventions, public policy, state system development and leading edge research.
Ms. Kelly represents the agency on a variety of national coalitions that are working towards coordinated care with the inclusion of family caregivers as part of the care team, better training for health and social service professionals and increasing training and support for family caregivers. These efforts are the Eldercare Workforce Alliance, The Campaign for Better Care and National Coalition on Care Coordination. Ms Kelly also sits on the California Olmstead Advisory Committee and recently was the Co-Chair of the San Francisco’s Strategy for Excellence in Dementia Care Expert Panel. Ms Kelly has written and lectured about caregiving, public policy, program and system development and use of consumer technology.

Leah Eskenazi,
Director of Operations & Planning / Leah is a twenty year veteran in designing, developing and delivering caregiver and aging programs and services. Her career spans human service nonprofits, healthcare and government organizations. She oversees the day-to-day operations of FCA including HR, Communications, administrative support and systems. It’s important to her to stay current with our clients. She remains an active member of FCA’s staff caregiver education team where she trains on various topics including self-care for Caregivers of Veterans, caregiver stress management, and the “IRS (Information, respite & support)” of caregiving. Leah is our in-house expert on program evaluation and enjoys being a bridge helping to navigate public/private partnerships.

Michelle Venegas, Director of Programs and Services / MSW, LCSW with experience in counseling (crisis, individual, group, cognitive behavioral, psychoanalytical, strengths-based, person-centered), supervising, managing, outreach, and advocacy.
Michelle leads the direct services aspect of FCA’s caregiving services, as Director of Programs & Services. She manages the Bay Area Caregiver Resource Center arm of FCA, and supervises the staff of Family Consultants that handle home visits and caregiver assessments.
