August/September Newsletter

Welcome Back, Students and Families! We hope you had a wonderful summer break! We are pleased to have you at our studio as we begin our 14th year in business and look forward to sharing this coming year with you. We would like to thank you for choosing us for your training in the performing arts! Over the next few months we will be offering a couple of great performance opportunities for our students and hope that you will be able to join us!

Meet Our New Owner/Director: We are excited to welcome Miss Victoria in her new position as the Owner and Artistic Director of The Dancers’ Studio! Victoria has been with the studio since it opened in 2004 and has watched the students and families grow over many years as a student and instructor. She is now thrilled to have the opportunity to continue the legacy of the studio and build upon The Dancers’ Studio family. She hopes the studio will continue to be a safe and friendly place for the youth in our community to learn about the performing arts.

Southern California Fair Performance: Our entire studio is invited to perform at the Southern California Fair in Perris in October! We will be performing Saturday, October 7 at 1:00pm. Our instructors will be busy over the next few weeks teaching our students routines in each of their classes for this performance! All classes (except technique-only classes) will be performing. We are hoping to be given enough time to also include all studio solos, duos and trios as well. Students will be wearing a Dancers’ Studio Fair T-Shirt, black leotard (under their fair shirt), black jazz pants or black leggings (full length pants, please, no capris), (Boys may wear black jazz or dress pants), corresponding class shoes, and hair in a high bun. T-shirts will be on sale during the last week in August and first week of September. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to get up on stage and demonstrate the skills they are learning in class… and it is a lot of FUN! In past years, each performer has been admitted into the fair for free, and allowed to park for free, and all additional friends and family would purchase entry tickets and parking. We are hoping to be given the same again this year, but are waiting to hear from the fair with final performance and entry details. Entry tickets cost $10 for adults ages 13+, $5 for Children ages 5-12, kids 4- free, and $8 parking. Ride tickets/passes, food, etc. are an additional cost. The fair is located at 18700 Lake Perris Drive, Perris, CA, 92571. The fair should be contacting us soon with final details, so we will get that information to you as soon as we have it. For now keep an eye open for the t-shirt sale! We look forward to seeing you at this wonderful performance! (More info on the fair can be found on the fair website: www.socalfair.com.)

The Nutcracker Ballet Auditions: Attention ballet students!!! Please join us for our 12th annual Holiday Ballet! We are so excited to bring back this classic holiday show and offer this great opportunity to our students! We will be holding auditions for “The Nutcracker” on Saturday, September 30th at 10:00am. We hope you will all be a part of this year’s production! All students who audition will be placed in the show; the purpose for auditions is to give our students the experience of going through the audition process, which also allows us to place students in the proper roles. Students playing a dancing role in the show must be enrolled in a ballet class or private lesson at the studio to participate. The cast fee to participate in this production is $150.00 per student (ages 5+). This includes rehearsal time, costume rental, and a Christmas Carol T-Shirt. Tickets and DVDs will be sold separately. Please see the Nutcracker Ballet Packet for more information. We hope to have you be a part of our outstanding cast! This will be a magical family production that we know you will love and won’t want to miss!!!

Class Placement: We hope that you are pleased with your classes as we get going this month. We place students in the classes we think are best for their level and age, but sometimes the dynamic of a class changes based on the number of students enrolled. Should you have any questions about our class curriculums, class levels, or feel that you would like to try a different class, please speak to your instructor directly about possibly moving to another class. We want all of our students to be comfortable and have fun, while being challenged to improve their dance and musical skills.

We hope you are having a wonderful month of August and a great start to September! Please let us know if you have any questions! Thank you for choosing The Dancers’ Studio for your performing arts training!
