MALAX Clothing

  • Both the 1st & 2nd clothing orders will be passed out on Sunday April 17th at the High School Stadium between the hours of 9AM and 11AM.

MALAX Board Elections

  • We will be holding our first MALAX election in May. The offices of President, Boys Vice-President, Secretary, Girls Commissioner and one At-Large will form the slate. If you are interested running for one of these offices, please contact Brian Tedesci () or one of the board members. We need to establish the candidates that will fill these offices for the next two years by May 1st. Raise your hand, and help build the tradition at Moon.

Volunteers

  • Thanks to Barb Stewart, Chris Stewart and Chris Homol for their work with the 2nd Annual Spring Mulch Sale.
  • Thanks to Dana Kasler & Moon Park for their help w/ the mulch storage and loading.
  • Thanks to all of the parents that worked this past Saturday with the delivery of the mulch and the construction of the MALAX storage shed.
  • Thanks to all of the parents that have volunteered to serve as Team Parents or Committee Volunteers. We are still have a few unfilled roles:
  • Team Parent – Boys 8B (1 parent)
  • Concessions – Boys HS (1 parent)
  • Year-End Picnic – Boys 7B (2 parents)
  • Please remember to contact your child’s coach to see if they still need parents to volunteer to help w/ the game-day related duties (field set-up, scoring table, and field clean-up)
  • Coach Bear Davis has volunteered to teach interested parents how to keep game stats and to run the game clock. If you’re interested, send us an email () or see a board member after the meeting.
  • Thanks to Alison Pollastro for volunteering and becoming the newest additional to the girls’ coaching staff.

Coaches Needed

  • Even through our season has only begun, it’s not too early to think about becoming a coach for next season or for that matter, if you want to help this season, but didn’t think your assistance would be useful…. You’re wrong. It’s not too late!! Just talk w/ your child’s coach or with a Board member after the meeting or send an email to

Practice Cancellation

  • We hope all of you have received the email from Coach Harry & Coach Tom. Please know that they are trying there hardest to schedule practice sessions w/ the players while valuing your child’s safety. It can’t rain much long. So cross your fingers and please bear with us. The weather can only get better.

Concession Stand Duties

  • The Concession Committees will soon be contacting you regarding the roles that you will be able to play to help support their efforts. As it stands right now, the plan is for us to operate a concession stand for ALL HOME GAMES at the High School Stadium. In addition to food and beverage, we will be selling MALAX T-Shirts and hats; and we will have raffle tickets on a hand-made wooden Mohawk Nations Lacrosse Stick that will run for the whole season.

Year-End Picnic

  • Ditto the above. This committee will be starting the planning for this in the coming weeks. Please support their efforts with this undertaking and help make this event as good as last year’s.

Year-End Lacrosse Tournaments

  • We have tournament scheduled for the Girls MS/Dev for Saturday May 14th and the Boys 8B & 7B teams for Saturday May 21st. Anyone care to spearhead organizing the families into planning and preparing a “Tail-Gate” type dining experience for our players and families??

Proposed Fundraising Events

  • Based on the results from the survey we had on the website, the proposed “Can-Day” event will be cancelled, but the Car Wash event will move forward. We will be looking to schedule this on a Saturday in early June. We will inform everyone, once a date and location are secured.

Summer Travel Lacrosse

  • The meeting w/ Pittsburgh Bridges Lacrosse schedule for tonight was cancelled. Jay Bedortha is willing to re-schedule this at a later date. If you are interested, please mention this to a board member after the meeting or send an email to
  • A meeting w/ Pittsburgh Premier Lacrosse Club and Katy Phillips (RMU Head Women’s Coach) is possible, if our girls’ parents are interested. If you are interested, please mention this to a board member after the meeting or send an email to

MALAX Weekly Summer Lacrosse

  • Based on the results from the survey we had on the website, we will work to develop a weekly evening lacrosse opportunity for our boys and girls. We’ll probably get started developing this in early May. If you are interested in helping to develop this or manage the weekly event, please let a board member know after the meeting or send an email to

Finances

  • We recently email out registration balances to our members. Should you have been one of the few that received incorrect information, WE APOLOGIZE for the inconvenience. We are using the accounting system provided on our website. It’s a good system, but as beginners, we’ve made mistakes using it. We ask you to bear with us and our growing pains as we build our skills using this system. THANKS!!
  • The MALAX 3rd Quarter Operating Statement is almost complete. This will be emailed to you upon its completion and will be posted on the website in the “TEAM – Documents” section.
