UNLESS YOU HAVE HAD THE ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED TRAINING. In addition, research animals require special handling practices to protect them from human disease and to protect humans from potential animal-borne diseases. If for any reason you come in contact with animals or animal materials and you have not had animal care training, you must notify your supervisor and the HCCM staff (432-1285).If your job will involve working with laboratory animals, you will need to complete additional specialized training before you can work animals. In addition, the nature of your job may necessitate vaccinations or medical surveillance or both. You are welcome to attend any additional specialized training if you desire.
