Becoming a Part of Our Farm

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a relationship between our farm and you as our customer. Rather than simply purchasing food, some of our customers become members of this CSAand receive a “share” of the farm’s harvest. We have several different kinds of shares. Here is the breakdown:

Type / Dates / Price / Expected Products
Full Produce Share / 20 weeks, mid-June through October / $650 / 40+ different types of vegetables, small fruit and several pick-your-own crops
Half Produce Share / 20 weeks, mid-June through October / $375 / 40+ different types of vegetables, small fruit and several pick-your-own crops

Flower Share
Pick-your-own / 12 weeks, mid-July through early-October / $150 / Asters, calendula, celosia, cosmos, foxglove, snapdragons, strawflowers, sunflowers, and zinnias

For the Produce Share, you will receive $35 worth of produce each week for the full share and $20 worth of producefor the half share. Keep in mind that this isaveraged over the season. For the Fruit Share, you will receive $17/week of fruit averaged over the season. The Flower Share is a pick-your-own share. You will receive 10-25 stems per week plus sunflowers when they are in season. The Fall Share will be approximately $33/week, except before Thanksgiving and Christmas, when it will be approximately double a regular week.

Pick-Your-Own

There are several crops that are pick-your-own and the member is responsible for picking these crops (including peas, herbs, beans, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries). You will need appropriate footwear, clothing, scissors, and containers. We do not allow picking of certain crops when the leaves are wet as it will spread disease. If rain is forecasted, you can come any other day, Tuesday-Sunday, 8 am – 6 pm to do your pick-your-own.

Picking Up Shares

You are responsible for picking up your share each week from our Farmstand. There are two pick-up options: the first half of the share week (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) or the second half of the share week (Friday, Saturday or Sunday). You can come on any of those three days as your schedule permits (without requesting a pick-up change). We are closed on and do NOT have pick-ups on Mondays. You can come anytime on your day between 8am and 5:30pm. We close promptly at 6pm. We strongly encourage you to provide your own bags to reduce waste.

If you cannot pick-up your share, please arrange for someone else to pick it up for you. You are responsible for explaining the procedures to your substitute, but the Farmstand staff will be on hand to help. If you wish to change your pick-up day (from early in the week to late in the week), you are allowed to do so once a season, but you must inform GMFby Monday of the week you wish to change by emailing . If you do not notify us in time, there is no guarantee that you can change your day that week.

If you have an emergency and cannot give notice, please call on the day of your pick up. The Farmstand staff will bag your share for you to be picked up later in the week.Shares that are not retrieved within the pick-up time are forfeited, unless you have given us prior notice.

Our Growing Practices

Sharing in the Benefits and Risks of the Season

We promise to do our best to provide you with a bountiful share each week. The quantity of produce and small fruit, however, will vary from week-to-week. Some seasons produce excellent heat-loving crops while others produce beautiful greens. By joining our CSA, you are agreeing to share in the risks and benefits of a New England summer. Our CSA members always receive priority when any crop is in short supply.

Member Fees and Refunds

By selling memberships in advance of the growing season, the CSA model reduces the burden of up-front costs for the farmer.Your membership fees provide us with money to purchase seed and equipment before the season starts, and we appreciate your commitment. You can pay by cash or check in the Farmstand or with an e-check online. We allow up to two installments to pay for the share, but the share must be paid in full byJune 1st, 2016. Please speak to the Farm Manager, Heidi Thunberg, for other arrangements.

We offer full refunds on shares until April 30th, 2016.From May 1st until June 20th, 2016, you will be assessed a fee of10% of the share cost for cancellation plus the retail value of the products you have already received, if any. As we have already bought seed, hired crew and begun planting for your share, we do not issue refunds after the initial two-week trial period.

General Farm Policies

There are a few rules on the farm that members should know: 1) Dogs are allowed around the Farmstand, but not in any growing fields or near any edible plantings. 2) There is no picking or pick-up on Mondays, 3) Do not pick items in the PYO field that are not specifically marked.
