Masonry heater:
5-22-Update: not discussed at meeting: possible team shaping up: core elements and heater design by Erik Nilsen, per recommendation from Steve Busch of Maine – he can meet schedule; heater construction by Lance Brownell – says he can work with the schedule. Steve Busch has sent some sketches which are a good start.
PEI / 11.3 / OPEN: Review updates from PEI: question for PEI: should there be 2 zones at main level, open space?
New Business
ALL / 13.1 / Site Plan:
  • Updated site plan by BCI reviewed.
  • Clivus: gravity system preferred
  • Erosion control: 3 yr old hardwood chip pile available; check for adequate vol.
  • Revise route of underground elec to Little Barn per Sandy’s comment & replace wall where disturbed
  • Located underground propane tank, much discussion: seems prudent to locate near drive to Little Barn so delivery does not go down the driveway; tank to feed boiler and generator
  • Generator: choose soon, needs to be available for construction
  • Is bio-diesel generator feasible at Little Barn? Needs heat, but if in a super-super ins cavity is it possible? Perhaps a below grade cavity? Would be cool.
  • House & drive staked out per revised site plan; all review;

13.2 / Timber Frame Meeting: Quentin, Kyle, Michael, Chris, Ed: discuss details, needed additional material, search for special curved material for braces, ties etc.
