Since 1948, the Connecticut Society of Health-System Pharmacists has represented the professional interests and provided professional development for CT pharmacists, educators, pharmacy students and pharmacy technicians. In particular, we focus on the concerns and needs of those who work in (but not limited to) medical facilities such as hospitals and health centers. Our goal is to create a positive and productive practice environment resulting in excellent service for both our health care colleagues and our patients.

Representation

The Society works for you so that you may work in Connecticut.

  • CSHP advocates for the professional interests of practitioners in CT before legislative and regulatory decision makers. We contract with a lobbyist on yearly retainer to look out for us.
  • We encourage our members to become involved in our grassroots initiatives that can enhance their ability to practice and affect the future of their profession.

Communications
The Society gathers and conveys important information about CSHP activities, practice and professional issues.

  • The Society communicates through its News Brief, pharmaceutical alerts, legislative updates and Facebook page. Most communications are broadcast so a current e-mail address is essential.
  • CSHP web site features weekly updates of professional and educational opportunities, and comprehensive information about the Society.

Leadership and Professional Development

CSHP offers its members opportunities to advance in their careers. Develop leadership skills and enhance your résumé.

  • CSHP’s prestigious Awards program recognizes pharmacists who have displayed professional excellence.
  • Members may exhibit a poster at the annual Catch the Wave conference, contribute a case study or topical article to the News Brief or our web site, present at the annual Great Eight residency forum.
