50th Anniversary of the Vision Studies Program Celebration!

The Penn-Del AER Board of Directors is pleased to announce a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) Vision Studies Program. We encourage all Pitt Vision Studies graduates to attend the 2014 Penn-Del AER Conference and participate in the celebration.If you are a Pitt grad, please share this announcement with your classmates and let’s have an overwhelming turnout to celebrate this milestone. Even if you are not a Pitt grad, we hope that you will be able to attend the conference to join in the celebration. This year’s conference and 50th Anniversary celebration will be held at the Best Western Premier Central Hotel and Conference Center, Harrisburg, PA, April 23rd – 25th, 2014(see conference and hotel registrationinformation attached).

In addition to the usual outstanding concurrent and general session topics and speakers, this year the conference planning committee is including aspecialgeneral session that will include a number of prominent Pitt grads who will discuss the influence that the Pitt Vision Studies program has had upon education and rehabilitation of children and adults nationally; the research generated by the graduates of the Pitt Program and its impact upon our field; the scholarship/publications produced by the Pitt graduates and its impact upon our field; and the contributions made by the Pitt grads toward our professional organizations. Many of the Pitt panelists will also be presenting a concurrent session highlighting their current research during the conference. In addition to the prominent Pitt graduates attending, there will also be past and current Pitt faculty participating.

This special general session is scheduled for Thursday, April 24th beginning at 3:30 p.m.

There will be a reception following the panel presentation, which will then continue on into the annual Penn-Del AER Conference banquet. A closing reception is being planned at the conclusion of the banquet.
