We are going to practice how to cite examples of places. When we talk about places, we are looking at the physical and cultural characteristics that distinguish this area from every other place on earth. What are the physical characteristics of places? What are the cultural? Examples: Climate, soil, landforms, vegetation; cultural characteristics; government, ideas, values, clothing, and language.

We will play a game called "I am thinking of a place..." For this game clues will be given regarding the physical and cultural characteristics of a place. Next to each clue number, students will list what they think the place is. Their answers may change as additional clues are given.
