After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
- Explain the importance of communication with the operating room team in the care and management of the patient
- Apply the principles of communication in interactions with surgeons and nurses
- Apply the Guidelines for Perioperative Blood Management to the surgical and obstetric patient
- Decrease anesthetic complications
- Improve knowledge in anesthetic principles
Session Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, participants should be able to:
- Explain indications for sedation in the intensive care unit (ICU).
- Apply understanding of sedative side effects in the selection of sedation for a hemodynamically unstable patient.
- List parenteral non-opioid analgesic options for use in the ICU.
