4th CCPS Global Summit on Process Safety

Scheduled for September12 to 13 in Okayama, Japan

NEW YORK CITY— The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and its Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) will host the 4th CCPS Global Summit on Process Safety at the Okayama Convention Center in Okayama, Japan, September 12 to 13, 2017.The summit will be presented in collaboration with the Japan Society of Safety Engineering and Okayama University’s Centerfor Safe andDisaster-Resistant Society,and supported by the Japan Petrochemical Industry Association. Representatives from dozens of organization and more than 30 sponsor companies and exhibitors from industries including oil and gas, chemicals, and petrochemical, are expected to participate.

The Global Summit on Process Safety is one event in a slate of annual and international conferences organized by AIChE and CCPS for the benefit of chemical engineers, academic researchers, and business leaders interested in developing safe industrial processes in the chemical, petrochemical, and allied industries. Remarking on the success of past global summits, CCPS Executive Director Shakeel Kadri said that this year’s event in Japan “will provide an influential forum where safety personnel, company leaders, and policy-makers in the region can visualize how process safety will be shaped and implemented in the years to come.”PreviousCCPS global summits have been held in Mumbai, India; Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and Damam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The 2017 program will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, paper presentations, and informal discussions, and is built around the objectives of CCPS’s Vision 20/20, including creation of a committed company safety culture, vibrant safety management systems, disciplined adherence to safety standards, competency development among employees, and shared training.The conference program can be viewed at:
