42nd Annual Almaden Valley Art & Wine Festival 2018 Logo Contest
The Almaden Valley Women’s Club (AVWC) would like to invite your students to participate in the annual Logo Contest for the annual Almaden Valley Art & Wine Festival. We will be celebrating our 42nd Annual Almaden Valley Art & Wine Festival at Almaden Lake Park on Sunday, September 16th from 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Our mission is to provide charitable financial assistance to non-profit children's foundations, educational facilities, teen programs, scholarships to high school seniors, and other non-profit and charitable organizations within the greater San Jose area. Every dollar we raise at our Festival is given back to our community in the form of grants and scholarships. Since its inception, The Almaden Valley Women's Club has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to provide support for community organizations in and throughout the San Jose area.
AVWC will select one Winner and four Finalist's logos from the pool of students eligible to participate in our Logo Contest. The winner will be awarded $200, 2nd place $150, 3rd place $100, 4th place $75 and 5th place $50. The 1st place logo will be on this year’s Festival glasses and all Festival documents. Including and not limited to Festival Wine and Beer Glasses, Festival printed and visual media as well as local newspapers. The logo winner, finalists, and teachers will be contacted on or before the week of April 16, 2018.
We ask that all students winning cash prizes attend our Logo and Scholarship Awards presentation on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the Almaden Community Center on Camden Avenue. At that time, their artwork will be presented to the community and their cash award will be bestowed. We will also be taking pictures for the Almaden Times of the winner and finalists to be published the following month. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend this important event for our children, community and club.
Please review the accompanying documents as they outline the requirements for submitting original art entries. If your art department does not wish to participate, please kindly post this letter and guidelines so that students may have an opportunity to apply on their own. As a courtesy to you, we will pick up all entries with the school receptionist onMarch 20, 2018 at 9:00 am.Please note that folded artwork will not be accepted.

Who is eligible:
•Any student enrolled in a public, private or home school program in the 95118, 95120 and 95123 zip code areas and is between the ages of 11 – 18.
•Any resident who resides within the 95118, 95120 and 95123 zip code areas and is between the ages of 11 – 18.
Artwork Requirements:
•All artwork is to be original and done in black and white. NO COMPUTER GENERATED ARTWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED.
•Artwork should be done on white 8 ½” x 11” paper and drawn to the scale of the paper.
•Artwork shall be signed and dated by both the student and the teacher on the back of the artwork
•Artwork shall have student’s address and telephone number and school listed on the back of the artwork
•Entries shall be submitted by Friday, April 6, 2018. Watch for details on our website the Festival Page.
•Artwork shall contain no words, drawings of glasses, or dates.
•When submitting, please do NOT fold the artwork.
