James Lesson 3

Romans 5:3-5

3. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;

4. and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;

5. and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

1 Peter 1:6-9

6. In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials,

7. so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

8. and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9. obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.

1 Peter 4:12-13

12. Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; 13. but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation.

Romans 11:33-36

33. Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! 34. For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, OR WHO BECAME HIS COUNSELOR? 35. Or WHO HAS FIRST GIVEN TO HIM THAT IT MIGHT BE PAID BACK TO HIM AGAIN?

36. For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.

Daniel 2:20-23

20. Daniel said, "Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever, For wisdom and power belong to Him.

21. "It is He who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings; He gives wisdom to wise men And knowledge to men of understanding. 22. "It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, And the light dwells with Him.

23. "To You, O God of my fathers, I give thanks and praise, For You have given me wisdom and power; Even now You have made known to me what we requested of You, For You have made known to us the king's matter."

Job 12:13, 16

13. "With Him are wisdom and might; To Him belong counsel and understanding. 16. "With Him are strength and sound wisdom, The misled and the misleader belong to Him.

Isaiah 9:6

6. For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

Hebrews 11:1

1. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:6

6. And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Matthew 7:7-11

7. "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

8. "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

9. "Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone?

10. "Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he?

11. "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!

Mark 11:22-24

22. And Jesus answered saying to them, "Have faith in God.”

23. "Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.

24. "Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.“
