Innovators Chess Academy, under the auspices of United Karnataka Chess Association, have the honour to invite all Schools (any Syllabus) in Karnataka to participate in the 3rd Karnataka State School Chess Championships (Under-7,Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15 & Under-17 for Open & Girl’s categories) which is going to be held at Silicon City Academy of Secondary Education at the above mentioned dates.
The Event serves as Selection Trials for the 5th National Schools Chess Championship 2016 to be conducted at Nagpur from January 5th to 7th, 2016.

Registration & Entry Fee
Entry fee: Rs. 500/- (For each participant)
The deadline for registration is 9th December, 2015.
The registration application must include the Name of Player, FIDE ID (if any), Rating (if any), FIDE title (if any), School Name, Age, Date of birth and state. An attested copy of Date of Birth (DOB Certificate from Panchayat/ Muncipality/Corporation within one year of birth is only valid for this purpose) and certificate from the school stating that the player is a bonafide student of the school are also to be attached along with application.
Entries may be paid by cash to The Secretary, Innovators Chess Academy, 579, 15th B Main, 14th Cross, Sector 4, HSR Layout, Bangalore 560102.
Time Control:
The time control is 25 minutes each with 10 seconds increment.
Appeals Committee:
Before the commencement of the championship, a five member Appeals Committee shall be formed by the Organizers. All the members and reserves shall be from different Schools. No member of the Committee can vote on Dispute in which a player from his own School is involved and in such case(s), the reserves shall take his place in the committee. The decision of the Appeals Committee is final and binding on players concerned.
Withdrawals
A player may withdraw from the Championship at any stage, after informing Chief Arbiter in writing.
Prizes:
The winner in each open age category is the Karnataka State School Chess Champion for 2016 and the girl in each Girls category is the Karnataka State Girl School Chess Champions for 2016. Trophies and Merit Certificates will be given to top 3 players of each category. All players will be given certificate of participation.
Entry fees of the top two players from each category will be paid by Innovators Chess Academy to the National Schools Chess Championship 2016 (according to age restriction).
Participation in 3rd Karnataka State Schools Chess Championship
Each School may enter any number of players in each of the age groups. The player should be a bonafide student of a school (any syllabus) in Karnataka and should not have represented any other State. The player should be a citizen of India and should not hold a foreign passport. Players with PIO/OCI card cannot participate.
Entitled to participate are players (Boys & Girls) who shall not have reached the age
7 by 1st January 2016 (date of Birth – January 1st, 2009 and after) – Under- 7
9 by 1st January 2016 (date of Birth – January 1st, 2007 and after) – Under- 9
11 by 1st January 2016 (date of Birth – January 1st, 2005 and after) – Under-11
13 by 1st January 2016 (date of Birth – January 1st, 2003 and after) – Under-13
15 by 1st January 2016 (date of Birth – January 1st, 2001 and after) – Under-15
17 by 1st January 2016 (date of Birth – January 1st, 1999 and after) – Under-17
Important: The above categories will be organized subject to a participation of at least ten players in each category. The Organizers reserve the right to cancel a category if the required numbers of players are not participating. The remaining players will be provided an option to move into the nearest available category. The number of Rounds may be reduced if there are very less players taking part in a specific category. However, the minimum number of Rounds for a Category will be six.

Note: Copy of date of Birth Certificate and bonafide certificate from school for all players should be enclosed. If Bonafide certificates or School Seal with Principal signature were provided for the 1st Silicon City FIDE Rating Rapid Chess Tournament, then the participant need not send the same once again. However, participants should send their date of Birth Certificates.
