1. Daily Schedule

2. Homework
Your scholar will bring home an agenda each Monday.
Language Arts homework should usually be about 10-15 minutes of spelling and 30 minutes of reading each night. The book log is the most important part of the homework and will be checked daily in class. Some students will be given nightly reading assignments that will be due the next day if they are struggling to make their AR goals.
Your child will need a one inch binder that will need to come to school and back home each day so that I am better able to help your child meet goals. Please keep the homework and book log in the binder. I will also send home work and progress reports in the binder.
Homework is due on Fridays for full credit.
Book logs are due on Mondays but come to school everyday.
Dreambox math on the iPad should be done for each night as part of the homework.
3. Spelling, Vocabulary, and Dictation
On Mondays the students will review new spelling and vocabulary words in class. That page will go home so that the students can study the words for the test on Friday. Vocabulary words will become extra credit spelling words for students who need a bit more of a challenge.
Each week two sentences will go home for students to study. There will be a dictation test along with the spelling test each Friday.
4. Thursday Folders
Thursday Tiger Folders will go home on Thursdays. They need to be returned to school on Friday with any signed notes. Please keep the other notes and returned class work at your home for reference unless I ask you to sign and return something.
5. Weekly Reports
Each Friday your child will bring home a progress report for a parent or guardian to review with your child and sign.
Please return the signed progress report on Monday. If your child does not return the note, they will have to call you to inform you that it was not returned.
When we get our iPads, the weekly reports will most likely be replaced with a behavior management app.
6. Parent- Teacher- Student Communication
Each week an agenda for the week will be sent home with brief notes about our classroom and reminders of dates coming up to remember.
This agenda will also be posted on Parent Square. If you are not connected to the school on Parent Square, please give me your email address and I will invite you to join as soon as possible.
Our school is in the process of implementing NEO. Soon, you will be sent an invitation to join. You will need a valid email address. NEO is where I will post spelling grades, AR progress, reading fluency and much more!
A Monthly News letter will go out that will celebrate some accomplishments and post important reminders.

7. One-to- One iPads
We will be getting one-to-one iPads in the near future for all third graders. You can choose to purchase one or have one loaned to your child for the school year.
Some of our homework will be done on the iPad. It will be very important that parents take an active role in monitoring the iPad as a learning tool. It will also be important for parents to set limits on screen time.
The iPad will need to come to school charged and ready each day so that we can use it as a learning tool in the classroom.
We do have school headphones, but children tend to enjoy having their own. It would be helpful to have some purchased for your child that are comfortable for them.

13. Birthday Celebrations
Our school has a NO sweets policy.
If you plan on celebrating your child’s birthday at school, I would like to encourage you not to bring food. Instead, it would be appreciated if you purchased a book or educational game for the classroom.
Any birthday celebrations will need to be at the very end of our school day and I must be informed of your plans in advance.
If your child has a summer birthday, we will celebrate as close to his or her half-birthday as possible.

3. Ortografía , Vocabulario y Dictado

4. Carpetas jueves

5. Informes semanales
Cada Viernes a su hijo llevará a casa un Reporte Semanal para un padre o tutor para revisar con su hijo y señal.
Por favor devuelva el Reporte Semanal firmado el lunes . Si su hijo no vuelve la nota, van a tener que llamar a usted para informarle que no fue devuelto .
Cuando lleguemos a nuestros iPads , los Reporte Semanal muy probablemente serán reemplazados con una aplicación de manejo de la conducta.
6. Comunicación de Padres y del profesor del Estudiante
Cada semana una agenda para la semana será enviado a casa con breves notas acerca de nuestra aula y recordatorios de fechas que vienen para recordar.
Este programa también se publicará en Parent Square. Si no está conectado a la escuela en Parent Square , por favor déme su dirección de correo electrónico y voy a invitar a que te unas a la mayor brevedad posible .

7. uno a uno iPads

El iPad tendrá que venir a la escuela cargado y listo cada día para que podamos utilizarlo como una herramienta de aprendizaje en el aula.
Tenemos los auriculares de la escuela , pero los niños tienden a disfrutar de tener su propia cuenta. Sería útil tener alguna compró para su hijo que se siente cómodo para ellos.

13. Fiestas de cumpleaños
Nuestra escuela tiene una política de NO dulce.
Si planea celebrar el cumpleaños de su hijo en la escuela , me gustaría animaros a no llevar comida . En lugar de ello , se agradecería si usted compró un libro o juego educativo para el aula.
Cualquier celebraciones de cumpleaños tendrán que estar en el final de nuestra jornada escolar y que deben ser informados de sus planes con antelación.
Si su hijo tiene un cumpleaños del verano, vamos a celebrar lo más cercano a su medio cumpleaños posible.
