3rd ANNUAL FISHOUT OFFICIAL RULES

  1. All entrants must read and sign waiver stating they understand and follow all rules and stipulations of the tournament.
  2. All fishing areas must be available to the general public.
  3. All Texas Parks & Wildlife laws apply.
  4. Any entrant cited for a TPWD infraction will be automatically disqualified.
  5. All fish must be taken by rod and reel only.
  6. All live, dead, or artificial bait is allowed.
  7. No land based fishing will be allowed. Wade fishing only allowed if area fishing was accessed by boat.
  8. All fish weighed in must have been caught by team members. No borrowed fish.
  9. No holding or blocking off of any fishing areas by other individuals not participating in tournament.
  10. 1 pole per angler allowed in the water at a time.

11.  THIS IS A POKER TOURNAMENT: Each team can enter only 1 category. Team chip must be placed into category of choice at time of weigh in and cannot be changed. Make sure you place your chip in your chosen category. No category changes!!!

  1. In the event of a tie by weight, length first and if still tied then girth will used to determine the tie break. The same follows for the Stringer Category.
  2. If still a tie, a coin toss will determine winner.
  3. Chips must be placed in chosen categories no earlier than 2pm and no later than 4pm at Pavilion by a team member and you must be in line for weigh in.
  4. Tournament will proceed rain or shine.

16.  No scales or means of measuring will be available from weigh master or tournament members prior to official weigh in. You must choose which fish you are entering into the tournament prior to weighing in. The fish you put on the scale is the fish you enter!

  1. Guide service permitted only in the Guided division. Guide may not be one of your anglers.
  2. Fish not meeting TPWD rules in measurements will be disqualified and cannot be replaced with another fish.
  3. All protests must be submitted in writing prior to the end of the official weigh in. This must be done before the last fish is officially weighed in and recorded. Protests will be given to the Tournament Director. Pen and paper will be available at the weigh in.
  4. Weigh Master has final ruling on all fish related matters.

CATEGORIES

Biggest Trout: within slot limit “15-25”

Biggest Redfish: within slot limit 20”-28”

Biggest Stringer: 3 Trout/1 Red all within slot limits as stated above

Most Spots: Redfish caught with the most tail spots. (size does not apply unless # of spots are a tie, slot limits do apply)

“We didn’t catch nothin” Lotto: 2 teams to be chosen at random during the weigh in and entered into a separate prize drawing. Teams must be present at the weigh in but don’t have to enter fish in the tournament to win the lotto drawing. Winning teams are excluded, sorry, you already won a trophy.

FISHOUT INFORMATION

CHECK IN: Friday, June 6th at the Back Porch Bar, 132 Cotter Street, Port Aransas from 5pm-11pm. CHECK IN IS MANDATORY FOR ALL FISHERS (Not Guides) RELEASE WAIVERS AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF TOURNAMENT RULES MUST BE SIGNED!

Teams will be given a poker chip upon checking in. This chip will have your team number on it and YOUR TEAM POKER CHIP MUST BE PLACED IN THE CATEGORY YOU ARE ENTERING BY 4 PM AT THE WEIGH IN, HELD AT THE PORT ARANSAS CITY PAVILION. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! WEIGH IN BEGINS AT 2PM.

TOURNAMENT: Saturday June 7th . NO FISHING LICENSE IS REQUIRED ON SATURDAY ONLY. The 1st Saturday in June is Texas Parks & Wildlife “Free Fish Day” and a fishing license with stamp endorsement is NOT required to fish. WEIGH IN: Be sure not to miss the weigh in this year! It will be at the Port Aransas City Pavilion. It begins at 2pm, and YOU MUST BE IN LINE AND YOUR CHIP TURNED IN BY 4pm. No exceptions!! Official name is the Dennis Dryer Municipal Harbor at Roberts Point Park. There will be a TREASURE CHEST raffle this year, as well as awesome Door Prizes, Gun Squares, Food, Beer, and Fun. All starting at 2PM. Tournament winners will be announced and award plaques given out. Even if you don’t catch a fish, come enter your team in the “Should have been here yesterday” drawing for a chance to win something special.

COOKERS: We will have cookers at the weigh in serving everything from fresh fried fish, juicy pork chops, brisket, ribs, and of course sausage. We would like to say “THANK YOU” in advance to our 3rd Annual Cookers:
