TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE ITALIAN-AMERICAN CLUB OF LIVONIA
This is an election year for all offices of the Italian-American Club of Livonia, which are: President, Vice-President,Recording Secretary, Treasurer, Corresponding Secretary and Sargeant-at-Arms. In addition to the election of these six officers and according to Constitutional changes approved at the April 15, 2009 General Meeting five (5) at-Large Directors will also be elected by the General Membership at that same election.
The deadline for nominations is September 5, 2017.
A nominating form which states eligibility requirements is enclosed. Anyone interested in running for any office or nominating someone else for any office must return a completed nomination form to the Club Office by September 5, 2017. These nominations should include a short summary of nominee’s personal history, work, education and background. The nominations will be dated when they are received. They will be turned over to the Nominating Committee, who will verify their nominee for eligibility. If the nominee meets the eligibility, his/her name will be placed on the ballot.
The election of officers and the at-Large Directors will be held onOctober 17, 2017on the same day as the General Membership Meeting. Meeting starts at 7:00 pm The purpose of this meeting is to conduct the general business of the Club and to make any constitutional changes deemed necessary by the membership pursuit to the amendment process contained in the constitution. In the event you feel a change in any section of the Constitution is called for, you must submit any proposed constitutional change to the Board of Directors by September 17, 2017, thirty days prior to the membership meeting. This will give the Board a chance to study the proposed change and make a recommendation at the meeting.
The polls will be open from 11:30 AM to 7:00 PM and be supervised by an outside, unconcerned party who will report the results at the General Membership Meeting, which immediately follows. A ballot listing all the candidates will be printed prior to the election. Only oneballotallowedper family. The voting member must present a current membership ID card or driver’s license to receive a ballot. Voting by proxy is not permitted. There will be no campaigning at the polls.
