Plagiarism Quiz

1.  I got this one right. I saw it was a direct quote without quotation marks so I knew right away that is was plagiarized. There was also no citation.

2.  I got this one correct too. I saw that they had the source and page number along with quotes so it looked like everything was there.

3.  I got it right. It quoted without quotations.

4.  It took two tries on this one. It didn’t have a page number so I wasn’t sure. I didn’t know if it was supposed to have page numbers so I guessed the paraphrase one. When I saw that was wrong I knew that it wasn’t plagiarism right away.

5.  I got this right. It paraphrased without citation and almost anything without citation is plagiarism.

6.  It took three tries. I thought it was a common fact so it wasn’t plagiarism. When that was wrong I thought that maybe it was paraphrasing. That was wrong so I thought maybe it was a borrowed fact. That was right but it was the picture, not the writing. So without the picture I would have been right.

7.  I got this right. It was a direct quote without quotations or a citation.

8.  This one was right too. Everything that they needed to say was there like author and the quotes.

9.  This question took two tries. I didn’t know that the chemical make up of water was common knowledge so I guess the paraphrase one.

10.  I knew this was plagiarism right away. It was Einstein’s famous equation and it was common knowledge but they claimed it as there own, and I was pretty sure Einstein wasn’t the student and the equation didn’t just come to him on his way to Physics.
