2nd Annual PascuaFlorida PilgrimageFebruary 18th-23rd, 2014

April 1513, Juan Ponce de Leon landed on the northeast coast of Florida and planted the first cross in the sand. The early heroic martyrs endured deplorable conditions bringing the Faith to native Indians and ministering to the settlers. Modern day Catholics may not face death of body but the irreligious atmosphere cries for evangelization! Come walk the path of the martyrs from St. Thomas More Chapel in Sanford Florida to the oldest known site of the First Mass in North America and Nombre de Dios Shrine in St. Augustine.

Total Pilgrimage: St. Thomas More Chapel to St. Augustine Total miles: 100 miles 25 miles of canoeing 75 miles of walking

A public profession of the Catholic Faith.

“different from a wanderer whose steps have no established final destination, a pilgrim always has a destination, even if at times he is not explicitly aware of it. And this destination is none other than the encounter with God through Christ in whom all our aspirations find their response”

A pilgrimage is not a vacation but a time to concentrate on your spiritual life. Daily Mass, spiritual reflection, penance, prayer, meditation, intercession, thanksgiving, communal prayer and fellowship with Catholic brethren are a few of the spiritual goals.

2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the Faith”.
