Bell Ringer: Exercises/run/music stop
Anticipatory Set: Students will be excited seeing the gym and equipment.
Procedures: Spots/instructions/active activity
Teacher Input: The student will listen to/watch the teacher. The teacher will assign a spot for each student. The teacher will explain procedures/exercises/cool down.
Modeling: The teacher will give directions verbally and execute correct form so students can hear and see expected movement. The teacher will stress SAFETY and RESPECT as well as staying on task and following directions. The teacher will remind students of appropriate behavior and sportsmanship.
Guided Practice: The teacher will demonstrate the desired movement for exercises and for each station. The teacher will state each of the I can statements while giving instructions.
Independent Practice: The student will be actively engaged during the class.
Assessment: The teacher will observe the students movement within personal and general space. The teacher will watch for appropriate behavior and praise those students.
Closure: The teacher will review the day’s activity with each class as they are lining up for dismissal.
