1Definition

Outcomes and performance criteria

Outcome 1

Describe compliance officer powers in relation to abandoned vehicles.

Performance criteria

1.1Compliance officers’ powers are described in accordance with sections 7 and 68BA of the Transport Act 1962, section 356 of the Local Government Act 1974, and sections 17 and 38 of the Resource Management Act 1991.

Outcome 2

Describe operating and safety procedures when dealing with abandoned vehicles.

Performance criteria

2.1Operating procedures are described in terms of the type of tow, towage fees, and in accordance with section 43A and the Transport Act 1962, and the Transport (Towage Fees) Notice 2004.

2.2Operating procedures are described in terms of vehicle relocation, legislation, and organisational requirements.

2.3Evidential requirements are explained in terms of section 356 of the Local Government Act 1974, and the Resource Management Act 1991.

2.4Safety procedures are explained in accordance with organisational requirements.
