Kemper Lakes Golf Club is located in the northwest Chicago suburbs in Kildeer, Illinois. Kemper Lakes is a premier world-class private golf club. Kemper Lakes houses a 32,000 square foot clubhouse, which sits on 325 acres. The clubhouse, which has two casual dining rooms, with combined seating for 90 quests. The ballroom seats 225 and overlooks the championship golf course. For 30 years, Kemper Lakes Golf Club has been recognized as one of the finest pure golf facilities in the country. During that time period, Kemper Lakes has played host to some of the great players in the world as the site of dozens of elite golf events including the 1989 PGA Championship, six Senior PGA Tour events, four Grand Slam of Golf events, the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship, the USGA Women’s Amateur Championship, and 24 consecutive Illinois Section PGA Championships.

JOB TITLE: BARTENDER

Reports to: Food and Beverage Director

Position Summary

Provides beverage service to club members and guests. Assists in monitoring inventory levels behind bar.

Essential Job Functions:

·  Delivers and promotes prompt, courteous and friendly service to all members, guests and employees.

·  Trains new staff members.

·  Performs daily cash reconciliation.

·  Completes opening duties and side work.

·  Ensures adequate supplies are ready for bar operations.

·  Follows set-up procedures.

·  Prepares garnishes for mixed drinks.

·  Greets guests and members.

·  Mixes, prepares, and serves drinks according to recipes to ensure proper wine and liquor pours for proper COGS.

·  Reviews all member checks for accuracy and presents them in a timely manner.

·  Reports all complaints to the manager as soon as they occur.

·  Maintains and cleans equipment.

·  Checks to be sure par stock is ready before opening of shift.

·  Cleans up and locks-up according to prescribed procedures.

·  Serves food if needed.

·  Keeps accurate monthly inventory of all glassware, with reports of breakage that may have occurred.

·  Keeps an accurate count on all lost drinks and breakage of any liquor bottles.

Education/Certificates/Licenses/Training

High School Diploma required. Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages (varies by state). Must obtain any required local and state licenses or certifications.

Experience/Background/Knowledge

Prior bartending experience required. Knowledge of private club dining room operations preferred.

Skills

Ability to communicate effectively with managers and employees in a fast paced environment. Must be able to perform basic math computations.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, and crouch; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
