21 universities from KP participated in the showcasing event at Institute of Management Sciences Peshawar to celebrate HEC’s 15 Years of Excellence

21 universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated in a showcasing event of innovative projects developed by students and faculty to mark successful completion of HEC’s 15 Years of Excellence. The HEIs displayed their achievements in the fields of basic & applied research, services provided to the industry and community and the business start-ups launched by the youth of the province, so generously supported by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. The event was hosted by IMSciences Peshawar.

Representatives from academia, corporate and government sector including, Prof. Ajmal Khan, Ex-Vice Chancellor Islamia College University, DG HEC Regional Center, Peshawar, Mr Muhammad Arshad Kamran, Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana, Vice Chancellor Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar, Dr. Engr. Attaullah Shah, Vice Chancellor, City University, Peshawar, , Professor Dr. Shah Jehan, Vice Chancellor, Iqra University, Prof. Dr. Riaz Ahmad Khattak, Vice Chancellor, CECOS University, Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Shafiq Ur Rehman, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Kohat University of Science & Technology ,Ms. Nosheen, Deputy Director, R&D Division, HEC, Mr. Javed Khattak, Provincial Chief SMEDA and Omar Zakori of Zakori Industries Ltd attended.

In his welcome speech, Dr. Muhammad Mohsin Khan, on behalf of the academic community appreciated the achievements made by the academia of the Province which could not have been possible without the valuable contributions of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. It is the great achievement of HEC that it has succeeded in a short span of 15 years in introducing qualitative changes and productive mechanisms in the system for the development of research and industry in the country.

Mr Muhammad Arshad Kamran, Dr. Razia Sultana, Dr. Atta Ullah Shah and Dr. Shah Jehan also spoke on the occasion. A panel of judges evaluated and shortlisted the projects for final showcasing in Islamabad.
