The Town of Newmarket is looking for live performers and entertainers for our 2018 events.

Please fill out the application form below to be considered for one of our upcoming events.

Application deadline: Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 4:30 p.m.
The review committee meets after the deadline to review all applications. If your application is accepted, a staff will email the main contact.

Please note:

  • The Town of Newmarket pays performers on the cheque run following the performance by either direct deposit or cheque. Cheque runs occur every other Tuesday (some exclusions apply in the case of holidays).
  • Performers may be required to provide a copy of general liability insurance up to the amount of $5,000,000.00 (depending on the risk involved in the activity) which names the Town of Newmarket as an additional insured on the policy.
  • A “Fees for Service” form must be completed. If a performer receives $500 or more in a calendar year from the Town of Newmarket, a T4 will be issued.
  • You will be asked to provide an invoice prior to your performance to act as a contract that outlines the agreement.

SUMMER 2018

  1. Kanata Summer Festival – Canada Day Event
    Date: Sunday, July 1, 2018
    Time: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    Location: Riverwalk Commons (200 Doug Duncan Drive)
  1. Canada Day Fireworks
    Date: Sunday, July 1, 2018
    Time: 7:30 – 10 p.m.
    Location: George Richardson Park (off Bayview Parkway)
  1. Kids Downtown
    Dates: Tuesday, July 10, 17, 24, 31, 2018
    Time: 7-8pm
    Location: Riverwalk Commons (200 Doug Duncan Drive)
  1. Music in the Park
    *Please note that all performers are asked to provide their own sound system for this 90 minute concert.
    *This event is weather dependent and in the case on inclement weather, the performance will be canceled and the performer will be given at least 2 hours’ notice prior to the event.
