2018 LYB Age Division Breakdown and Fees
The age of your child on April 30th, 2018 will determine the youngest division in which they can participate. For example, if your child is 10 on April 30th, they may not play in any division under 10U. Exceptions will be looked at on a case by case basis to allow your child to play up one division.
Divisions will be formatted in the following manner:
TBall:4 and 5 year olds. Numbers will determine whether or not age groups are divided or combined. We will always try to keep them separate. It is our wish to have LYB TBall teams playing each other. If there are not enough LYB teams to make an acceptable schedule, we will schedule TBall games with other communities. $100 per player.
Coach Pitch:6 and 7 year olds. Age groups will be separated into 6U and 7U divisions. These teams will play each other and other communities. $150 per player.
Combo Pitch:8 year olds. Division will be referred to 8U. These teams will play one each other and other communities. $160 per player.
9U:9 and under. Sandlot league is $175and Travel league is $375 per player.
10U:10 and under. Sandlot league is $175and Travel league is $375 per player.
11U:11 and under. Sandlot league is $185and Travel league is $375 per player.
12U:12 and under.Sandlot league is $185and Travel league is $375 per player.
13U:13 and under. Sandlot league is $195and Travel league is $375 per player.
14U:14 and under.Sandlot league is $195and Travel league is $375 per player
2018 LYB Team Formation Protocol
I.TBall
A.Teams formed through arbitrary/random assignment of players to coaches.
II.6U Kid Pitch
A.Teams formed through draft.
B.Coaches allowed 4 protected picks but it is not mandatory to have them prior to draft.
III. 7U Kid Pitch
- Teams stay together from 6U.
- Supplemental draft held to accommodate new players and kids wishing to go
back in the draft.
IV.8U Combo Pitch
A.Teams stay together from 7U.
B.Supplemental draft held to accommodate new players and kids wishing to go back in draft.
V.9U – 14U
A.Sandlot Recreational League (replacing Hot Stove)
1. Coaches form their own team in the following manners:
a. Bring your entire team from prior year. Your roster will be subject to add-ons based on the number of Sandlot registrants that do not have a team.
b. Bring a portion of your team from prior year with no hand-picked additions. Remainder of roster will be filled through supplemental draft. Must have a minimum of 8.
c. Hand pick an 8 player team knowing that your roster will be completed through the supplemental draft. If you have hand-picked more than 8 players, you will be required to play in the travel league.
NOTE: If your team is a returning (7U-14U) team, AND you lost one or more of your 4 (7-8U) or 8 (9-14U) “hand-picked/protectedplayers”----you may add another hand-picked player/players to your roster AFTER you have notified your respective LYB League Commissioner and they have had the opportunity to verify your roster and loss of hand-picked player(s). Players will automatically return to their team/head coach from the previous year unless a parent has requested to re-enter the player draft. NO returning player shall be RELEASED or CUT from a recreation team roster.
B.Travel League
1. Coaches hand pick teams.
