Distinguished Alumni Awards 2018

The former Alumni Association introduced Flinders University Distinguished Alumni Awards to coincide with the University’s 40th Anniversary in 2006.The Awards recognise alumni who have distinguished themselves in one or more of the ways listed under the selection criteria.
Selection Criteria

  • Contributions which have benefited Flinders University and/or the alumnicommunity.
  • Contributions which have benefited the community - locally, nationally, or internationally.
  • Humanitarian services and contributions to society.
  • Professional achievements.
  • A significant role in a single incident or activity in one of the areas identified above.
  • Services to the University (provided that such service is not the sole criterion or a mandatory criterion).

Eligibility Rules

Nominees must be graduates of Flinders University i.e. a person on whom the University has conferred an academic award, including an honorary award and an award conferred jointly with another body under section 21 of the University Act.

A Distinguished Alumni Award will not normally be awarded to a recipient of a Convocation Medal or Honorary Degree, or to a person who would more appropriately be considered for such an award.

A person may hold only one Distinguished Alumni Award.

Deadline

Nominations for the Flinders University Distinguished Alumni Awards are invited, and must be received by 5pm, Thursday, 31May 2018.
