2017Mentorship and Scholarship Application

Celebrate Women Celebrate You(CWCY) annuallyawards scholarshipsto three distinguished African-American young women who display academicexcellenceand a vision for their future, and the future of their community.

The objective and mission of Celebrate Women Celebrate You is to recognize and celebrate everyday’ women. CWCY has established a community mentorship program for young women. CWCY works in partnership with local school administrators to identify these young ladies. They would then be matched with a mentor from the network of CWCY’s participants and honorees, according to their career goals and interests.

The following requirements need to be met for the mentorship program and scholarship consideration:

• Must be a 2017 graduatingsenior
• Required to attend three CWCY’s mentorshipprograms and/or events over the next year
• An overall B average or GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (an official academic transcript needs to accompany application)
• Complete and sign the CWCY Mentorship and Scholarship Application
• In Essay Format. Essay must be typed and not to exceed two (2) pages, 12-point font, and double spaced

• Two letters of recommendation (one from each:teacher, counselor, school administrator, club advisor, etc.)
• A personal interviewby the Scholarship Committee is required as well as being filmed for the scholarshipvideo presentation at CWCY’s Annual Black Tie Event.
