2017 North Texas Catholic Men’s Conference Pulpit Talk (Updated Dec 30)
I’m ______with the North Texas Catholic Brothers for Christ, a non-profit ministry that serves both the Dallas and Fort Worth Diocese and a parishioner here (or) at ______.
Our men’s movement mission is to:
· motivate Catholic men to commit to building the Body of Christ by uniting as brothers,
· witness the Gospel in all areas of our lives, and
· facilitate faith building programs for men in local parishes.
It’s in community & fellowship that men build up and support one another. If you’d like to grow in your faith, hear about Christ’s call for us to be disciples, we invite all men 18 and older to attend the 6th annual North Texas Catholic Men’s Conference on Saturday, April 22.
The upcoming conference starts at 8 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grapevine, and concludes with a community Mass at 5 p.m.
Our theme, “Salt and Light: Embracing Christ’s Love,” builds upon the Jubilee Year of Mercy and comes from the Gospel of Matthew.
This year, our conference is blessed again to have a lineup of great Catholics including:
Father Dwight Longnecker, a Catholic convert, author and noted conference speaker,
Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers, a powerful speaker and EWTN regular,
Curtis Stephan, an award winning composer and musician and favorite in parishes across the country,
Dave Palmer, KATH 910-AM general manager and Guadalupe Radio Network host who will serve as emcee, plus
Several local speakers who will lift up and inspire all attendees.
During the conference, early bird priced at $39 and increasing to $45 on Feb. 1, attendees will enjoy:
► Good food
► Meaningful fellowship
► Outstanding music,
► Interaction with area Catholic ministries and vendors, and
► Praise & worship
Last year, more than 900 men from 110 parishes participated in our conference. This year, we’re expecting more than 1,000 men to participate in Eucharistic Adoration, pray the Divine Mercy chaplet, receive reconciliation and celebrate Mass. And we’re preparing for growth as our April 2018 conference will shift to St. Ann Catholic Church in Coppell to accommodate even more people.
To all the women here, I’m asking you to please invite male family members and friends in your life to attend this conference.
Details and a registration link can be found online at NTXCMC.org. That’s ntxcmc.org.
I’ll be in the atrium after Mass to answer any questions you might have and help with registration. Thank you, and may we all be the salt of the Earth and light of the world to others.
