Bootheel Bounty: From Swampland to Farmland

The purpose of the MFS is to encourage the collection, preservation, and study of folklore in the widest sense, including customs, institutions, belief s, signs, legends, language, literature, musical arts, dances, crafts and folk arts of all ethnic groups living i n the State of Missouri .

Single presentation, complete session proposals, and/or panel discussions are invited. Volunteers are needed to chair sessions, help with registration, transportation, auction.

1.  Complete this form for solo paper, full session, or panel proposals, or for volunteering.

2.  For presentations, also fill out the form specific to the session format: single paper, full session, or panel discussion.

3.  Send by snail mail or submit electronically to John C. Fisher.

Single Paper

Full Session

Panel Discussion

All individual paper proposals should include the title of the presentation and a brief abstract. Proposals for full sessions and panels should include titles of individual papers, abstracts, and suggested title for the session. Session proposals should also include a proposed session chair. Ideally, chairs should not also be presenters in the session they chair. Presentation times are roughly 20 minutes for each presenter with time available for questions and answers after all presentations in the session have been made. If you want to use laptop and projector or have other special needs, you must let us know.
