I, the lender, am loaning artwork (see list of attached entries “Artwork Labels”) to the Center for the Performing Arts (CPA) Gallery at Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) for exhibition purposes and community outreach. Artwork is to remain on site during the exhibition and will not be lent to a third party.
Work submitted must be the sole and original creation of the exhibiting artist(s). Artwork must be original and not reproductions of copyrighted ©, trademarked TM, or registered ® materials. Reproductions or Giclée prints are not originals and therefore not accepted. Work that is considered offensive by district guidelines will not be displayed. Any work not following these standards may be rejected at the discretion of the college.Representatives of the college have the right to cancel or withdraw an exhibition at their discretion. If this is the case, artists will be notified in advance of a cancellation.
Artwork will be arranged and installed at the discretion of the gallery coordinator. Labels, general signage, and promotional documents in the gallery will be provided by PVCC. Lender and PVCC will jointly promote the event. The college will host the artist reception. PVCC will exercise the same care with respect to the artwork as it does in safekeeping its own art collections. The art will not be altered in any manner without the permission of the lender.PVCC may photograph the art for publicity, condition reports, and educational (non-profit) use only. Press photographers will receive direction from a member of PVCC’s staff familiar with the exhibition.
As a condition for providing insurance coverage for the art while in the custody and control of PVCC, PVCC must have a satisfactory independent valuation of the art. Valuation documentation that lender provides (list of entries provided by the lender, “Artwork Labels”) may satisfy this requirement if someone other than the artist has provided the stated values. If PVCC does not have the valuation documents required, lender understands that PVCC’s insurance may not cover the art while it is in PVCC’s custody and control. If artwork is stolen, vandalized, or damaged while in the custody and control of PVCC, PVCC will notify the lender and will contact the Risk Manager of the Maricopa Community Colleges at the following address:
