2017 IL Swimming LC Senior Championships Important Information

Illinois Swimming will now have all your championship meet information and documents all housed on the Championship Meets page of the Illinois Swimming web site. Please direct your families to this page ( for any updates/info throughout the IL Swimming championship season. Currently posted are entry lists, timed finals psych sheet, pre-scratch timeline, full meet psych sheet, and more.
Positive Check In
Positive check-in is required for the 800 Freestyle, 1500 Freestyle, and all relay events. Positive check-in in located at the clerk of course and is due prior to the scratch deadline for that event. Entries not checked in or scratched by the appropriate deadline will automatically be down seeded.
Scratch Procedures
Email scratches will be accepted until 1:00pm on Thursday, July 13, 2017. Scratches submitted via email must be sent to Todd Capen at . It is the responsibility of the sender to ensure that this email is received by the host club. Scratches/Check-In for Day 1 individual event are due by 4:30pm on Day 1 of the meet. All subsequent day’s events check-in or scratches are due 30 minutes after the start of the previous evening’s finals.
Warm-up/Warmdown
There will be breaks in which the competition pool will be open for warm-up/warmdown during prelims on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday. These 10 min breaks can be seen in the preliminary timeline posted. We will also have use of the small pool throughout the course of the meet. Availability in the small pool will be as follows:
DAY / PRELIMS / FINALS
Thursday / NA / 1 lane 5:30-6:30pm; 2 lanes 630-8pm
Friday / 1 lane 8:30-9:15am; 4 lanes after / All 4 Lanes
Saturday / 2 lanes 8:30-10am; 3 lanes 10-11am, 4 lanes after / All 4 Lanes
Sunday / 4 lanes for prelims; 2 lanes for 1500 Free / All 4 Lanes
Finalists Procedure
Reminder to all clubs that we will be swimming 10 lanes throughout all sessions of the meet. This includes finals sessions in which we will be swimming the Top 30 finishers in prelim/final events, Top 10 relay entries, and Top 10 timed final events.Swimmers in the Championship Finals must report to the ready room area and check in with the ready room official prior to the start of the Championship Final of the previous event. Consolation and Bonus Finalists must report to the Deck Referee behind the starting blocks prior to the Championship final of the previous event. NOTE - consolation swimmers’ names will be announced while they are behind the blocks. Bonus swimmers’ names will be announced while they are in the water. The ready room will be located on the lake end, balcony side of the pool deck.
Bio Sheet
Please fill out Bio sheets for any Top-10 finalist and hand them to the announcer 20 minutes prior to the start of each finals session. Please fill out a separate sheet for each EVENT. These sheets are available at the announce table.
Awards Procedure
Top 10individuals and Top 3 relays will be awarded. Awards ready room will be located in the equipment room by the pool office and Shark Room. The winning coach should help hand out awards. If a coach is not present we will hand out awards without them to keep the meet moving.
Time Trial Sign Up
Time Trials may be conducted at the discretion of the Meet Referee for swimmers entered in at least one individual event or swimmers competing on at least one relay. Time Trials shall be counted in the daily maximum number of individual events swum, but shall not count in the meet limit of events swum. Fee is $10.00per event and is payable to host club at time of entry, which can be done at the time trial sign up table. Each swimmer must provide their own timer and lap counter for time trial events. Sign Up (Entry) Deadline is 5:00pm on Thursday and 11:00am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Deck Access
Only swimmers, coaches, officials and timers are allowed on deck. We will be controlling deck access carefully. Coaches will access the deck thru the Hospitality area (as was done at the SC Age Group Championships) where they will sign-in each session prior to entering the pool area. Officials will access the deck through the Shark Room. All swimmers must access the deck through the locker rooms only. Coaches, officials and swimmers will be issued deck passes for the meet. IMPORTANT: Coaches & Officials will be required to show your meet credentials to access the deck. The pool deck will open at approximately 6:00am each morning for swimmers, coaches, and officials.
Coaches Meeting
There will be a coaches meeting in the Hospitality Room at 4:15pm on Thursday, July 13, 2017 and Friday, July 14, 2017 at 8:00am. Additional meetings, if necessary, will be held 20 minutes prior to the start of each prelim session. Each team or unattached swimmer must be represented.
Spectator Area
As always when visiting this facility, spectators are not allowed to bring chairs into the balcony. Please let your parents know to leave them at home as this is a fire department directive that creates a safety hazard.
Parking
Parking in the main lot of the building is for RecPlex members only. There is plenty of free parking located around the building and in additional lots. Please see the attached map for all parking areas available to all attendees of the meet.
