2017 Fran Keyhoe Official of the Year Award

and the Young Official of the Year Award

Dear friends

Table Tennis Australia Ltd. (TTA) through the TTA Umpires and Referees Committee (URC) are calling for nominations for the 2017 Fran Keyhoe Official of the Year Award and the Young Official of the Year.

As in previous years, the awards are open to all officials who satisfy the criteria below, unless they have won an award within the last two years, i.e. Glenn Errington (SA 2015), Zark Roksandic (Qld 2016) for the Fran Keyhoe Official of the Year or Sam Miller (ACT 2016) for the Young Official of the Year.

The minimum criteria for the Fran Keyhoe Official of the Year are:

Nominees will have, during 2017:

-Registered as a member with an Association affiliated with TTA

-Participated in at least four local / state / national / international tournaments as either an umpire or referee

-Adhered to the Officials Code of Ethics

-Performed a minimum of 12 hours non-umpiring / refereeing work such as

(a)Involvement with officiating committees

(b)Involvement in training and / or mentoring

(c)Involvement in running tournaments

(d)Attendance at courses

The minimum criteria for the Young Official of the Year are:

Nominees will have, during 2017

-Registered as a member with an Association affiliated with TTA

-Been under 25 years of age during 2017, i.e. was born in 1992 or later

-Participated in at least two local / state / national / international tournaments as either an umpire or referee

-Adhered to the Officials Code of Ethics

-Performed a minimum of 4 hours non-umpiring / refereeing work such as

(a)Involvement with officiating committees

(b)Involvement in training and / or mentoring

(c)Involvement in running tournaments

(d)Attendance at courses

Please detail as fully as possible the nominee’s officiating activities for this year and any other relevant information in the encolsed forms, then return this information to Dave Delpratt, TTA URC at by no later than Friday 5 January 2018. A selection panel consisting of TTA URC members, excluding any who have been nominated, will determine the successful nominees. The announcement of the winners will be made at the 2018 Australian Commonwealth Games Qualification Tournament on the Gold Coast from 11-14 January 2018.

Please discuss possible nominations within your State association or officiating organisation as I am sure there are many officials who deserve recognition for their efforts, whether it be at international, national or local level.
