At the Office of Sexual Assault and Relationship Abuse Education & Response (SARA), we believe in communities where everyone is empowered to express themselves and have caring relationships. Our mission is to empower the Stanford community to end sexual and relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment through collaborative education, advocacy, and response.

We promote healthy, empowered, and consensual relationships at Stanford and SARA staff are professionally trained and experienced in addressing all matters related to sexual and relationship violence, stalking, and sexual harassment. Weprovide education and training, consultations about options and resources, and outreach to engage students and facilitate thecoordinated, comprehensive, and consistent response to these issues on campus.

We collaborate with all members of the campus community to increase awareness and foster a culture of safety, success, and respect. The SARA Office honors diversity, inclusion, and intersectionality in all aspects of our programming and services.

Student Staff Job Description

(10-15 hours/week)

●Aid Coordinator of Prevention Education & Training in evaluating, improving, developing, & marketing SARA Office campus education efforts.

oAdditionally, individually lead certain outreach programming.

●Serve as a liaison to community centers, student organizations, and other campus collaborators.

●Search for opportunities to provide education and manage our scheduled trainings.

●Implement peer-to-peer panels addressing issues around sexual assault & relationship abuse and prevention.

oBuild and maintain panel of student panelists and coordinate schedules.

●Assist in managing promotion of the SARA Office and corresponding events & outreach efforts via direct emailing, fliers, and SARA Office social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)

●Develop and maintain additional SARA programming initiatives.

●Design and conduct focus groups, assisting with evaluations and assessment of programming.

●Assist Administrative Associate with organizational, logistical, and administrative tasks as needed.

●Note:Throughout the year, the SARA office creates new initiatives in the areas of education, outreach, prevention, research, and assessment. These projects require specific skill-sets, knowledge, and passion. The SARA office welcomes all new ideas and projects that are in line with meeting those needs.
