2017-2018 Registration Information
The Niagara Falls Red Raiders Basketball Association is pleased to announce its Basketball Program for the 2017-2018 season. The following is information regarding this year’s program and detailed information about the application process. Please read this information over thoroughly as it includes important dates and times. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Registrar.
Note: all players (including players who intend on playing Select/travel basketball) must register at this time even if their season starts later in the year. (i.e. Midget through Junior Select girls and boys MUST have their registration forms in by September 9, 2017. If you do not sign up by this date we may not have enough players/coaches to support teams at these levels).

Novice Instructional Program: / born in 2010 and 2011 / $150.00born in 2008 and 2009 / $160.00
Girls / Boys Atom House League / born in 2006 and 2007 / $190.00
Girls / Boys Bantam House League / born in 2004 and 2005 / $190.00
Girls / Boys High School Aged House League / born in 2000 to 2003 / $190.00
Select Novice Boys and Girls / born in 2008 to 2011 / $450.00
Select Atom /Major Atom Boys and Girls / born in 2006 and 2007 / $580.00
Select Bantam/ Major Bantam Boys and Girls / born in 2004 and 2005 / $580.00
Select Midget / Major Midget Boys and Girls / born in 2002 and 2003 / $580.00
Select Juvenile Boys and Girls / born in 2001 / $580.00
Select Junior Boys and Girls / born in 1999 and 2000 / $580.00
PLEASE NOTE: The fee structure for select teams includes home and away uniforms,tournament entrance fees, Basketball Ontario registration fees, OBA tournament fee and gym rental costs. Additional costs throughout the season may apply, but may vary between teams.
***All Fees must be paid in full for both house league and Novice – Major Bantam travel by November 1st or your child will be removed from their respective team.
Select (Travel) Try-outs:
Players at all age levels are encouraged to attend try-outs for the Select Teams. If you are interested in trying out for one of the Select Teams, please check the box on the registration form. Select (travel) try-outs for Novice through Major Bantam will begin in mid-September. If you have expressed interest in playing on a travel team, your child will be contacted by the coach with the time and location of the try-outs. All registered players who try-out for the Select program and do not make the team will be guaranteed a place in the house league program.
The cost at registration is $25 if you are interested in trying out for a travel team. This fee will be put towards your registration fees if you remain with the Red Raiders program (either travel or house league). If you choose to leave the Red Raiders, than this fee is non-refundable.
Midget through Junior level Select teams do not begin their seasons until after their high school basketball seasons have finished (Girls late November…Boys late January) and will not be contacted until this time.
Novice Instructional Program:
The Novice Instructional Program will be divided into boys and girls divisions. The girl’s program will operate Saturday mornings out of Stamford Secondary School and the boy’s program will operate Saturday mornings out of A.N. Myer Secondary School. The Novice program will start on Saturday, October 14th, 2017and run on Saturday mornings until Saturday, March 3rd, 2018. The program does not operate over the Christmas holidays. Please note that you will not receive a reminder call about the start date. The following are the age groups, times and locations (times are tentative and depend on how many players register in a certain age category):

If your child has played a minimum of two years in the novice program and is nine years old, they can register to play in the atom house league program. Please note: if the convener finds house league is not a good fit for a child he/she may be asked to return to the novice program.

Atom Girls (born in 2006-2007):
●Monday September 18th:Glengate Church (Valleyway) from 6:00 - 7:30 pm
●Saturday September 23rd:Stamford Collegiate Secondary from 9:00 – 10:30am
Bantam Girls (born in 2004-2005):
- Monday September 18th: Glengate Church (Valleyway)from 7:30 – 9:00 pm
- Saturday September 23rd:Stamford Collegiate Secondary from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Atom Boys (born in 2006-2007):
●Thursday September 21st: Glengate Church (Valleyway) from 6:00 – 8:00 pm
●Saturday September 23rd:A.N. Myer Secondary from 9:00 – 11:00 am
Bantam Boys (born in 2004-2005):
●Thursday September 21st:A.N. Myer Secondary Schoolfrom 6:00 – 8:00 pm
●Saturday September 23rd:A.N. Myer Secondary School from 11:00 am – 1:30 pm
The Boys and Girls House League program will start practices the week ofSeptember 25th, 2017.

High School House League Assessment Day
●High School Girls & Boys (born in 2000-2003) Location and time TBA (you will be contacted for high school house league. This division may be co-ed depending on registration numbers)
●Regular games will be played on Sunday evenings beginning at 6:00 pm (Glengate Church)
●Practices are Friday evenings beginning at 6:00 pm(Glengate Church)
NOTE: We cannot guarantee any requests for specific coaches or teammates. Exceptions may be considered on an individual basis and must be submitted in writing to the League Convener before Saturday, September 9th.
