AHOUSE RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE PASSING OF REVEREND ISAAC KENNEDY CLOUDAND TO EXTEND THEIR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HIS LARGE AND LOVING FAMILY AND HIS MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives were saddened to learn of the death of Reverend Isaac Kennedy Cloud at the age of eightynine on January 23, 2017; and

Whereas, born in Blythewood on April 8, 1927, he was the son of the late Ellison Cloud and Peggy Kennedy Cloud; and

Whereas, a beloved pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Ridgeway for twenty years, Reverend Cloud was instrumental in growing the church physically and spiritually while improvingboth hiscommunity and the county; and

Whereas, Reverend Cloud was the proud father ofsix children: Harold Cloud, Anthony Cloud, Barbara Carson, Jacqueline Cloud, LaParis Cloud, and Chasity Tucker, all of Columbia. His children blessed him with threeadoring grandchildren: Alexis, D.J., and McKenzie, all of Columbia; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the life and legacy of Reverend Cloud and for the example of sacrifice and kindness he set for all who knew him. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

Thatthe members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the passing of Reverend Isaac Kennedy Cloudand extend their deepest sympathy to his large and loving family and his many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Reverend Isaac Kennedy Cloud.
