Parent Responsibilities

As parents you have an active part in your child’s sacramental preparation. This is an opportunity for you to grow in your faith, as you help your child on this spiritual journey. There are many ways we encourage you to participate in the sacramental preparation process such as attending indicated GOF sessions with them, talking with them about why it is important to you for them to be confirmed and about their faith life, and we will need help serving the meal for the sponsor day.

Additionally, we ask that you and your student attend Mass weekly so you can be nourished by our Lord. You are the person they will most imitate in life. The example you set is the one they will follow. If it has been awhile since you last attended Mass regularly, please use this as an opportunity to start attending again.

You are also always welcome to attend the GOF sessions, bible studies, and other adult formation opportunities offered in the cluster to help you grow in your personal faith life. The stronger your relationship is with Christ, the more of Christ’s light you have to offer to others. Like a cup that never empties when water continually pours into it, when you are continually filled with Christ’s light, you never run empty, and can let that light shine to all those around you.
