LIKE IT IS shifted out under pressure in the home straight to the extent that a full run then became available for PRETTYBOYTROY (Rohan Hillier). On the finish line LIKE IT IS then shifted down and as a result PRETTYBOYTROY contacted a marker peg. Driver Adrian Collins (LIKE IT IS) was reprimanded for careless driving for allowing his drive to shift in over the concluding stages.

The all clear was held up as Stewards viewed the official race replays of the concluding stages and after doing so were satisfied and the all clear was then given on the judge’s numbers.

RACE 3 – DOWLING MCCARTHY MOBILE DIVISION TWO – 2180 METRES

UDONTGETME raced rough in the score- up.

HELLO PRINCESS raced rough shortly after the start and hung in during the event, most noticeably over the concluding stages. The mare has been placed on its last chance to race truly for hanging.

OUM MAXICAM raced wide in the early stages from its outside draw whilst being restrained.

RACE 4 – NICHOLS SOUND & COMMUNICATIONS PACE – 2180 METRES

The start of this event was delayed while Stewards carried out a track inspection in relation to a light tower being out on the home turn. Drivers competing in the race were also consulted and were satisfied with the light level. The track also required dragging due to wheel marks from the water truck crossing the track and as a result the start time was delayed to 8.43pm with races 5, 6 and 7 then starting on the advertised starting times.

STRANGE CONDUCT which galloped out has been placed out of the draw for future standing start events. YOUNG BRUISER was inconvenienced by the galloping STRANGE CONDUCT.

Stewards inquired into the reasons for UNCLE BUZZ breaking on the first turn. After taking evidence from drivers Rohan Hiller (UNCLE BUZZ) and Adrian Duggan (FLYLIKA HAWK) Stewards were satisfied that UNCLE BUZZ had broke of its own accord. The gelding will be placed on its last chance to race truly.

RAINBOW PHOENIX and BYMARJAC raced rough after the start.

YOUNG BRUISER had a tendency to hang in and pull during the event.

NANCES DELIGHT which swung sideways at the start as the start was affected has now been placed on out of the draw in future standing start events.

Prior to the all-clear being declared driver Gareth Rattray (NANCES DELIGHT) asked to view the film of the home straight and after doing so lodged a protest against HERBIE HAZE (Craig Hayes) ) being declared equal first place getter on the grounds of interference over the concluding stages. After considering the submissions of both drivers, viewing the official race replays and acting on their own observations Stewards were comfortably satisfied that HERBIE HAZE had shifted out locking stays with NANCES DELIGHT which affected the result and upheld the protest and the amended placings were: first place NANCES DELIGHT, second place HERBIE HAZE, third place MASTER DOC, fourth place FREDS UNDER FIRE.
