RACE 1 – SIRES PRODUCE PRELUDE – 2090 METRES

GOD SAKE was placed outside the draw at the Devonport Harness Racing Club meeting on 6 March 2016 and under the provisions of AHRR 134(7) was placed outside the front line in tonight event.

SPOT EIGHT broke as the field raced around the turn shortly after the start. Connections have been advised that this gelding has been placed on its last chance to race truly.

TSIMBA RIDGE hung out during the score up and as a consequence was out of position at the start and will continue to be placed out of the draw for mobile start events.

LAST QUICKSTEP broke shortly after the start and will continue to be placed out of the draw for mobile start events.LAST QUICKSTEP raced rough in the back straight on the first occasion. This gelding also broke as the field raced out of the home straight on the final occasion and has been placed on its last chance to race truly.

WARCHEST and STREETSIDE CLASSIC have both been placed back in the mobile draw.

TSIMBA RIDGE tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 63.5 meters and as a consequence has been placed on its last chance to race truly.

HIT THE LIGHTS tired badly over the concluding stages of this event to be beaten 77 meters. Connections of this gelding have been advised that it has been stood down for 10 days and until the completion of a satisfactory trial.

RACE 2 – BARRY COOPER PACE – 2090 METRES

Mr Steve Lukac trainer of STONER RAINBOW was fined the sum of $50 under the provisions of AHRR 210 for a late driver notification.

ROCKBANK DANCER pulled hard for the majority of this event.

GUYS DELIGHT tired over the concluding stages.

CEMENTO RAPIDO hung in around the home turn and as a consequence inconvenienced FLYLIKA HAWK who was racing to its inside. As a consequence FLYLIKA HAWK raced roughly for a short distance.

EKTORAS was held up for clear racing room as the field raced around the home turn on the final occasion.

STONER RAINBOW was held up for clear racing room as the field approached the home turn on the final occasion.

ROBERT MOREAU broke during the score up and was consequently out of position at the start. Connections of this gelding were advised that it has been placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.

Driver Lyarna Graham (ROBERT MOREAU) pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 156(3)(b) in that she used the whip excessively over the concluding stages of this event. As Ms Graham hadn’t breached this rule in the previous three months she was issued with a reprimand.

FAITHFUL JET was fractious during the score up.

BUNJIL BOY was out of position at the start and has been placed on its last chance in the draw.BUNJIL BOY then tired badly over the concluding stages to be beaten 145 meters. As a consequence connections of this gelding were advised it has been stood down for 10 days and until the completion of 1 satisfactory trial. BUNJIL BOY underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities

RACE 3 – DENNIS MAHONEY PACE – 2090 METRES

DAYRAID was a late scratching at 12.48pm due to illness and has been stood down for 28 days.

STRANGE CONDUCT galloped out and as a consequence has been placed on its last chance in the draw.

SUTTER MAN galloped out and will continue to be placed outside the draw for future standing start events.

SUTTER MAN pulled hard throughout the middle stages of the event.

BRAVO CHARLIE pulled hard throughout the middle stages of the event.

BRAVO CHARLIE has been placed back in the standing start draw.

A post-race swab sample was taken from BRAVO CHARLIE, winner of the event.

Adrian Collins (SUTTER MAN) successfully jostled Justin Howlett (NITRO BLUE) for a position in the one out line racing towards the 500 meters.

CHRISTIAN JAZ NZ was held up for clear racing room as the field entered the home straight on the final occasion.

RACE 4 – RAY SALTMARSH PACE DIVISION ONE – 2090 METRES

Trainer Michael Laugher pleaded guilty to a charge under AHRR 238 in that he failed to comply with a requirement of the stewards in relation to notifying his intentions with his dual runners in this event. Mr Laugher was fined the sum of $100.

JOHN PRESTON and ORIGIN BILLY were both held up for clear racing room as the field entered the home straight on the final occasion.

SMILETURNER tired over the concluding stages of this event.

At the conclusion of this event it was reported by driver Gareth Rattray that THATSWHATSHESAID had lost a bell boot.

RACE 5 – LINDA DUGGAN PACE – 2090 METRES

TANGO TERRIFIC underwent a pre-race veterinary examination which found no apparent abnormalities.

Two claims were submitted prior to the running of this event for RAJAH WEALTH.

SKY TOWER (Mark Yole) caused a false start as just prior to the start being affected that gelding broke through the starting tapes. As a consequence connections of this gelding were advised that it has been placed outside the draw in future standing start events.

CYRILFROMTHEPOCKET was slow out and hung out rounding the home straight on the first occasion.

MIGHTY JASPER was slow out.

MELPARK MAESTRO hung out as the field raced out of the home straight on the first occasion.

TANGO TERRIFIC swung sideways at the start and shifted out sharply checking PACIFIC SOUL NZ and severely checking RAJAH WEALTH which broke. TANGO TERRIFIC has been placed outside the draw in future standing start events.

Due to more than one claim being lodged for RAJAH WEALTH a ballot was conducted and Ben Yole was the successful claimant.

Mighty JASPER has been placed back in the standing start draw.

RACE 6 – ELLIOTT BOOTH PACE DIVISION TWO – 2090 METRES

IDEN UP THERE tired over the concluding stages of this event to be beaten 61.4 meters. IDEN UP THERE underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. The gelding has been stood down for 10 days and until the completion of a satisfactory trial.

MISS GUENEVERE broke as the field raced out of the home straight on the first occasion. Connections of this mare were advised that it has been placed on its last chance to race truly.

CEE CEE SOUND hung in as the field raced out of the home straight on the final occasion. The gelding then tired over the concluding stages.

ANIMI SUB IGNIS pulled hard during the middle stage of this event

A post-race swab sample was taken from PLAYSTATIONKING, winner of the event.

RACE 7 – PETER KUROWSKI PACE – 2090 METRES

Stewards inquired into the apparent poor performance of CISKEI (Nicholas Brockman). Mr Brockman explained that he believed the horse was hitting its knee before it raced roughly and broke as the field raced down the back straight on the final occasion. The gelding then tired over the concluding stages. The comments of Mr Brockman were noted. Connections of this gelding have been advised that this gelding has been placed on its last chance to race truly.

ATTORNEY STRIDE (Mark Yole) sustained a flat tyre as the field raced around the home turn on the final occasion. Stewards inquired into the reasons for the flat tyre and after hearing evidence from drivers Mark Yole(ATTORNEY STRIDE) and Samantha Gangell(MY GREEK MATE) Miss Gangell pleaded guilty to a charge under AHRR 168(1)(a) for careless driving. In determining penalty Stewards considered Miss Gangell’s relative inexperience and the level of carelessness which was low. Miss Gangell was issued with a reprimand.
