Welcome! We are excited you are considering participating in a Spain Park tradition that is both fun and rewarding. Being a contestant in the 2015 Miss Spain Park Beauty Walk will provide you with an opportunity to experience personal growth and to showcase yourpoise and intelligence onstage. I.Registration Form

Registration forms will be submitted electronically. The registration form is available on the Spain Park Cheerleading website or with this URL:

II.Registration Fee – All fees are NON-REFUNDABLE!

There is a non-refundable registration fee of $40.00 per participant. Registration fees will be paid online through My School Fees. Please see Spain Park Cheerleading website for online payment instructions. Visit the My School Fees website with this URL:

III.Miss Photogenic Competition (Optional)

The Miss Photogenic Competition is an additional fee of $10.00. All money collected for the photogenic competition will be donated to SOZO Children.

Please submit a 5 x 7 head/shoulder shot of the contestant in a 5 x 7 or larger envelope with name and grade of contestant clearly marked on the outside of the envelope. Contestant’s name and grade level should also be marked on the back of the actual photo. These should be submitted to Emily Paul(Room 339) or placed in her box through the front office. These photos will not be returned.

All photogenic fees and photos are due by Wednesday, March 4! All fees are non-refundable!

IV.What You Will Need to Participate:

  1. Opening Number:
  • Black Pants (any style)
  • Shoes (should be comfortable enough that you can move on stage in them)
  • Tops – Any solid bright colored top
  1. A formal, floor length dress for the evening gown competition

V.Mandatory Practice

All participants must attend the entire practice on both days in order to compete in thepageant. Junior and senior contestants will practice Monday, March 16 at 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the theater. Freshman and sophomore contestants will practice Tuesday, March 17 at 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the theater. A full run through of the program with all contestants will be Thursday, March 19 at 6:30 pm in the theater. All contestants will be required to attend BOTHmandatory practices at Spain Park High School. *It is helpful to bring the shoes you plan to wear for both opening number and evening gown so you may practice walking on the stage.

VI.Division of Grades

All four grades will compete on Saturday, March 21. Each grade will compete separately, and have a winner (9th grade princess, 10th grade princess, 11th grade princess, 12th grade Miss Spain Park).

VII.Judging

Each contestant will be judged on stage by the following criteria:

Stage presence

Poise/posture

Beauty

Overall appearance

Appropriateness of dress (not how expensive it was)

Seniors will have a score from private interview and on-stage question

Each grade will have a 2nd and 1st runner up in addition to the class winner. The 2015Miss Spain Parkwill be chosen from the senior class, and will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

VIII.Contestant Profile

The contestant profile is a listing of accomplishments, hobbies, church and school activities, etc. that you would be willing to have mentioned while you are on stage. These should be carefully thought out BEFORE they are submitted, as we will make no changes/additions to them. No exceptions!

IX.Communication

We will communicate with contestants and parents via e-mail. Please check your e-maildaily prior to the beauty walk once you have submitted your application.

X.Tickets

Pre-event tickets will be available for purchase online through the My School Fees website. Advance tickets will be $12. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door for $15.

XIII.Backstage and Dressing Rooms

Absolutely no one will be allowed backstage except for contestants!! We will let you know which doors to come through prior to pageant day. Once you are in the dressing room/backstage, you will remain there until the competition is over.

Contestants will be assigned to a group dressing room. Dressing room moms will be available to take care of the girls as they change back into their evening gowns after opening number.

XV.Senior Contestants

Seniors will participate in an interview with a panel of judgesthe morning of Saturday, March 21. Please complete the Senior Profile for the judges to use as a preview before the interview.You can complete the profile using this link: Professional attireis appropriate for this portion of competition (suit, dress pants, skirt, etc.). Pageant hair and make-up is not needed for the interview.

Senior contestants will also need to prepare a 30 second on stage statement to discuss a topic you feel is most important to your generation.

Monday, March 16th 6:30-8:30 Rehearsal for 11th/12th gradersin the theater

Tuesday, March 17th6:30-8:30 Rehearsal for 9th /10th graders in the theater

Thursday, March 19th6:30-9:00 Full run-through rehearsal for all contestants in the theater

Saturday, March 21stSenior Interviews in the library beginning at 10:00 am.

4:30 Dressing rooms will be open for contestants; doors will be open for ticket sales.

6:00 Beauty Walk begins
