Program Overview

The Learning to Lead™ BC program is designed to advance the leadership skills of women in British Columbia. This extraordinary program is one of the ways we bring remarkable women together to learn from each other and to celebrate their accomplishments. Now in its twelfth year, the Learning to LeadTM BC program is an exciting opportunity for women from all over British Columbia to participate in fun and informative workshops, become inspired by fantastic keynote speakers, and interact with other women who are exceptional leaders in their communities.

Here is what some of our past participants had to say about their experience in the program:

“Overall the Minerva weekend was one of the most powerful experiences I have ever had. It gave me the confidence to be more assertive with my leadership style. It taught me the power of authenticity and how important it is to be comfortable in your own skin. I met truly amazing people and made new connections. I am really grateful for the opportunity to be part of such an incredible program.”P. Bockelmann, Gr.11 Student Leader L2L BC 2013 (Brentwood Bay, BC)

“The Minerva L2L conference was truly a wonderful and transformative experience. The sessions were expertly facilitated, the guest speakers inspiring, and the leadership content relevant and engaging. The opportunity to connect with women leaders from three generations makes the Minerva L2L a unique event and it provides women the opportunity to tell their stories and deeply connect with others. I would absolutely recommend this program - and I have been enthusiastically doing so ever since I returned from the conference! My heartfelt thanks to the staff, volunteers, and donors who made this year's L2L conference possible.”T. Schiewe,Emerging Leader L2L BC 2013 (New Westminster, BC)

“Being a Community Leader at the Minerva Learning to Lead weekend was an inspirational and life changing event. I was honoured to be asked and felt a keen sense of connection with the women prior to arriving for the weekend. BUT nothing could have prepared me for the transformational experience I was about to have. Being in a room full of highly engaged female leaders each at a different stage of career/ife was completely inspiring and instilled in me a call to action in my own life.

The process from the start of the pre-work to the ending send off was a leadership experience that has fundamentally changed how I contribute to the world. I now have a far better understanding of myself, others and how I contribute to the lives of those around me at work, in my volunteer roles as well as in my personal life. Everything I learned is 100% applicable and will assist me to become a better leader, a better contributor and a better member of my community. Thank you Minerva for such a wonderful gift!”J. Hassel-Gren, Community Leader L2L BC 2013 (Vancouver, BC)

“It was the best leadership program I have seen - and I have been in the business.” P. Jacobsen, Community Leader L2L BC 2012 (Vancouver, BC)
