  • Those designated as Leaversand Dropouts will require a 203 record. Movers do not require a 203 record. Whether or not a 203 record is required is based onthe student’s status as of the School Start Window. The School Start Window isthe first day of school through the last Friday in September.
  • Students requiring a 203 Leaver Record in PEIMS not reported on a 203 could be attributed to the district/charter as UNDERREPORTED for accountability measures.

85 / Non TX Graduate
86 / Completed GED outside Texas / Copy of the GED certificate or some other written document provided by the testing company showing completion of the GED; to include date of GED completion, location, address, and contact information of the company. (Includes on-line company.)
90 / Graduate–Military Compact / Transcript indicating sufficient credits, date and school official signature OR diploma with graduation seal.
Moved to other educational setting
24 / Entered College / Documentation must indicate student is enrolled full-time (transcript request, signed letter from the college verifying enrollment, signed and dated letter from parent/guardian that the student has enrolled in college program leading to an associate’s or bachelor’s degree
60 / Home School / Signed, dated letter from parent. Indicate date started home schooling.
66 / Removed by CPS / Used only in removal by CPS not private agencies. Documentation: Due process documentation supporting this withdrawal or written documentation of oral statement by CPS, include CPS representative’s name, date of conversation and school office signature.
81 / Private School in Texas (includes TX Job Corp) / District must document that the student has actually enrolled in a private school in Texas, the Texas job Corps Diploma Program, or a private or public school outside of Texas. One of the following types of documentation is required to verify enrollment: records request, a signed letter from the receiving school verifying enrollment or a signed and dated letter from the parent/guardian that the student has enrolled in a private school or public school outside of Texas leasing to the completion of a high school diploma.
82 / Enroll in School outside Texas
87 / Enroll in UT or TTECH HS Pgm / District must receive a records or transcripts request from the high school diploma program or letter from the high school diploma program stating the student is enrolled.
Withdrawn by School District
78 / Student expelled & cannot return / Expelled under 37.007, term of expulsion has not expired, or the student cannot return due to court action. Documentation: Due process supporting the expulsion.
83 / Withdrawn by district, not entitled to enroll / Four provisions not entitled to enroll: 1) not a resident of district 2) not by provision of TEC 25.001 or a transfer 3) not under TEC 38.001 or TDSHS rule for immunizations.
Documentation: Due process(defined in Appendix D)supporting the withdrawal.
Other Reasons
03 / Student Died / Death occurred while enrolled or during summer break, Copy of death certificate or obituary, memorial service program, written or oral statement from parent/guardian.
16 / Return to Home Country / Student (including foreign exchange student) leaves the US – include destination.
Documentation stating reason for leaving and applicable signatures. Documentation confirmed by the parent/guardian, qualified student, or other adult with knowledge of the family’s location, signed and dated by an authorized representative of the district.
88 / Court order GED, not earned / Copy of court order to attend HSEP or GED, includes name, date of order, judge and county.
89 / Incarcerated as adult / Notification from law enforcement, office of prosecuting attorney or Jail/penitentiary that student is incarcerated in state or federal facility.
98 / Other (Dropout) / Locally defined: Leaver Tracking Form or similar standardized form including authorized signature and date.
