One of the ways the USTA/Midwest Section continues to increase wheelchair tennis participation is through awarding grants to organizations and/or individuals that promote and develop the growth of wheelchair tennis and use the sport of tennis to build stronger, healthier communities.

GRANT PURPOSE

The USTA/Midwest Section is committed to promoting tennis at the local level. Grants awarded are to assist with expenses and supplement additional funding sources. The Program grant is designed to assist organizations in expanding or initiating wheelchair programs in the Midwest. Funded activities/items include, but are not limited to:

•Coaching

•Court time

•Equipment

•Events (i.e. Run/Rolls, tournaments, camps, clinics)

GRANT ELIGIBILITY

Organizations (for profit and nonprofit) in the Midwest that have plans in place to begin/host a wheelchair tennis program, clinic, camp or special event in the Midwest in 2018 are eligible to apply. Organizations in the Midwest with existing wheelchair tennis events or programs are also eligible to apply. Priority will be given to programs that promote and develop the growth of wheelchair tennis, target new players, link their program(s) to continuing play opportunities, including group lessons and organized play programs.

All applicants will be required to submit an accountability form showing where and how their funds were spent.

APPLICATION DEADLINES

We have a limited amount of funds to award. To assure that all funds are used to benefit as many programs and individuals as possible, the deadline to submit a request for 2018 funding is May 1 for a decision by June 1 and August 1 for a decision by September 1.

Please either print or scan and email the completed application with any supporting documents and send your proposal/application to the email address or mailing address listed below.
