2012 Second Annual CCWBRA National Championship

The Rock Hall Yacht Club is located at the confluence of Langford Creek and the Chester River, on the Chesapeake Bay’s picturesque Eastern Shore. Again this year the YC will host the 2012 CCWBRA Nationals on Saturday August 18th the more racers and families/friends the better, all are welcome. This stretch of the beautiful Chester River is a great place to race since there are few wakes due to limited big boat traffic, easy beach launching and plenty of grass on which to camp, park and rig. The members of RHYC welcome you and appreciate your attendance at our regatta. Be safe and have fun.
1.) Rules: This regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules as established by CCWBRA, except as may be amended at the event by the Race Officials, all contestants will be informed of any changes before the race, at the skippers meeting. All contestants will be required to weigh in and carry extra weight to the Class Minimums.
2.) Eligibility: There will be starts for the following classes:6 HP and 8 HP.
3.) Schedule of Events: There will be heat racing of no more that six boats in each heat, there will be three races run with each group of boats. The top two boats in each set ofheats will race in a final threerace heat to determine the National standing. If there are less than 6 boats in a class there will be three heats with the cumulative standing in each heat determining that Class National standing. Registration will be from 0800 to 1200 with racing commencing promptly at 1300. A detailed schedule of events is provided at the end of this NOR.
4.) Registration and Fees: CCWBRA prefers that all entrants pre-register via US Mail or via email to . On-site registration and check-in will begin on the 18that 0800 at the Registration Desk.

Race fees are as follows:
- $30 per boat to cover RHYC facility usage, trophies, support boats
- $5 per driver CCWBRA Fee.
- Late registration fees (after August 15th) - $5 per boat and $5 per driver
Food and beverages will be catered by RHYC:
- Meal plan – Satbreakfast,lunch dinner & Sun breakfast:$50 per person
- Kids 11 and under $20 each
- Kids 12 – 16 $30 each
- Sat dinner only$25 per person
5.) Scoring: The Low Point Scoring System will apply and will be reviewed at the skippers meeting
6.) Awards: Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places in each class.
7.) Facilities: Launching facilities include two crane hoists, launch ramp and beach launching. The RHYC has a full service clubhouse with a pool, bar and meals; restrooms and showers open 24/7.
8.) Camping: There is plenty of land to camp and hot showers are available, there is a $10 electric usage fee for campers/RVs. If you need electrical hookup, that charge will be collected at the registration desk. Hotels: You can find a hotel or B&B in the area at or Lodging in the Rock Hall area fills up quickly on summer weekends so please don’t delay.

10.) Risk: All competitors are ultimately responsible for the inherent risks associated with boat racing. It is the competitor’s decision to enter the regatta and to start or continue any race. Each competitor will accept full responsibility for all his/her actions during any activity related to the event. This includes on shore activities before, during, and after the regatta.

1300 – 1400 / 6 HP Class – 165 lb minimum driver weight (3 Heats + Championship Heat)
1400 – 1445 / 6 HP Class – 200 lb minimum driver weight (2 Heats + Championship Heat)
1445 – 1500 / Change out for 8 HP Class
1500 – 1545 / 8 HP Class – 200 lb minimum driver weight ( 2 Heats + Championship)
1600 – 1700 / Team racing (format to be determined)
1700 – 1800 / Secure waterfront
1830 / Cocktail Hour, awards and dinner
Sunday – August 19th
0700 - 0800 / Breakfast0800 – 1200 / 6 and 8 HP River Run and Team Racing (Format TBD)
1200 / End of National Championship
Note:
- Each Heat will consist of 3 races. 15 minutes is allowed for each heat. (Each race will be 4 minutes: 1:00 minute starting sequence, 2:30 for the race and 0:30 to clear the course and reset for the next race, 3 minutes to change out drivers and boats for the next heat). No practice starts or races will be allowed during the heat.
