2012 CONVOCATION FOCUS

A Door Set Open:

Leaders of Change

And Hope

Presented by Rev. Dr. Peter Steinke

“The Church is in a changing context. The church’s response is in flux to this situation. Here are some suggestions (and provocations) about the new response, especially that the mission cannot be done by proxy, but letting it live through Christian lives, attuned to the whole person.” - Peter Steinke

Dr. Steinke has recommended these books as some that would be helpful to prepare for this event:

Generous Justice by Tim Keller

One.Life: Jesus Calls, We Followby Scot McKnight

A Door Set Open by Peter Steinke

To Change the World by James Davison Hunter

[For a list of ten books Dr. Steinke feels are important for all parish pastors to read, email Wendy at

An Excellence In SpeakersFund has been established by the Conference. Our worship offering (and other designated contributions) will go to this fund. Checks should be made payable to Penn Central Conference, noted as given to “Excellence In Speakers Fund.”
