AHOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR LARRY J. LOGAN OF LOGAN’S TRUCK SERVICE IN LEE COUNTY, AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM FOR RECEIVING THE ORDER OF THE TOWMAN.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to learn that Lee County Councilmember Larry J. Logan has been awarded the prestigious Order of Towman from American Towman magazine for his dedication to the towing trade and for his serviceto the community; and

Whereas, professionals who receive the Cross of the Order, a Maltese cross with a unique towing icon sculpted in the center, enter into an elite organization of towing professionals nationwide and take an oath to continue their exemplary dedication; and

Whereas, a Lynchburg native and the owner and operator of Logan’s Towing, Larry Loganalso serves as a deputy coroner and as a councilmember for Lee County; and

Whereas, much of the work that towmen perform is accidentrelated, and the towmen are often dispatched by the town police department; and

Whereas, nominated by Lynchburg police officer Rickey Williams for the award, Mr. Logan was one of thirtyeight professionals recognized nationwide by the vehicletowing industry at the 22nd Annual American Towman Exposition held in Baltimore, Maryland, in November 2011, the only recipient from the Palmetto State; and

Whereas, a towing professional for more than thirty years, he started his business with a 1957 Ford F600 wrecker, and today his fleet of four tow trucks includes two heavyduty tow trucksand two rollbacks; and

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciate the standard of excellence and the years of faithful service that Larry J. Logan has given to the citizens of Lee County. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Larry J. Logan of Logan’s Truck Service in Lee County, and congratulate him for receiving the Order of the Towman.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Larry J. Logan.
