SWIMMING/DIVING INVITATIONAL

Location: Swimming events will be at Bartlett High School Natatorium.

Diving events will be at Chugiak High School

Eligibility: The Bartlett/Chugiak High School Invitational is open to all swimmers and divers from schools in Alaska which sponsor interscholastic Swim/Dive competition. This is a statewide event and everyone is encouraged to attend.

Meet Format: The order of events for this meet will follow the standard high school dual-meet format. This will be a scored event.

Entry Fees: Entry fee of $125 per school. Make checks payable to Bartlett High School.

Swim Meet Information

Swim Facility: Bartlett High School - Fifty meter 8-lane pool, divided by bulkheads into a two 25-yard competition pools. IST Timing System will be used with Colorado touch pads, 1-button manual backup, 8-lane IST display, and horn and strobe light start. The pool depth at the deep end start is 12 feet; deep end turn is 5 feet. The pool depth at the shallow end start is 4 feet; shallow end turn is 4 feet 10 inches.

Swim Meet Schedule: Warm-ups 9:00a – 10:40a.

Two warm-up sessions will be used. Times and lanes will be assigned by the Meet Referee. All warm-up lane assignments and times will be posted on deck and coaches will be provided the schedule by Thursday, October 8th.

Officials Meeting: 10:00 a.m.

Coaches Meeting: 10:45 a.m.

Timers Briefing: 10:45 a.m.

Meet Start: 11:00 a.m.

There will be a required break of no less than 15 minutes between the 50 Free and the

100 Butterfly

Swim Entries: Schools will be limited to four (4) entries per individual event and three (3) relay entries per relay event. Individuals are limited to 4 entries, only 2 of which can be individual events.

Swim Rules: In odd-numbered years, girls will swim in 8 lanes of the shallow end and boys will swim in 6 lanes in the deep end.

Each event will be seeded slowest to fastest.

Psych sheets will be distributed to coaches via email, if time permits.

National Federation of State High School Associations rules will apply.

Swim Entry Forms: Hytek (Team Manager) entries are strongly encouraged.

The entry deadline for non-Hytek entries will be 10/2/15. Note: this date is earlier than the deadline for Hytek entries.

No hand-written entries will be accepted

Dive Meet Information

Diving Facility: Chugiak High School

Dive Meet Schedule: Pool will be open at 7:30 am

Diving warm-ups at 8:00 am

Dive meet starts at 9:00 am

Dive Rules: Divers will be cut prior to finals. The top 12 divers after the preliminary round will advance to semi-finals and the top 8 Divers after semi-finals will dive in the final round.

If a diver does not have 11 dives, they are encouraged to participate but will be automatically cut after prelims.

Girls will be diving first; but we do ask that all coaches and athletes come for the entire competition.

Dive order will be cast by lot and posted the morning of the competition

Dive Sheets This is an 11 dive meet and dive sheets must be written to the NFHS standards or a diver may be disqualified.

Prelims: 2 voluntary, 3 optional. Semi-Finals: 2 voluntary, 1 optional. Finals 1 voluntary, 2 optionals.

The diver must cover all five categories within the first 8 dives.

The diver must complete 2 dives in every dive category and one category with three dives, which is not to be repeated until finals.

The DD of your voluntary dives is not to exceed 9.0

MINOR changes to dive sheets may be made up until 8:15am the day of competition.

GENERAL INFORMATION ON ENTRIES

Late entries will be charged an additional $50 and will not be included in the meet program. Late entries will be seeded on a space-available basis only. If there are seeded heats with open lanes, late entries will be permitted. No additional heats will be added to accommodate late entries.

Entries must include a complete alphabetical roster – include swimmers, divers and managers.

After the entry deadline, with the exception of scratches, there will be NO changes permitted.

It is the coach’s responsibility to confirm that entries have been received and are correct and on time.

Please include contact information (name, phone and email). The Meet Director will try to email out all entries prior to the meet for confirmation.

OTHER INFORMATION:

Hospitality/Concessions:

Hospitality will be provided by KNIK Swim Team for all volunteers.

Commemorative T-shirts will be available for purchase.

A swim shop may be set up in the atrium at the south end of the upper deck@ Bartlett.

Concessions will be available on the upper deck.

Shaving: No shaving will be permitted on the premises. Violation of this rule will result in expulsion from the meet.

Parking: Please advise all attendants to park in the west parking lot (where the tennis courts and pool entrance are)
