Excelsior Middle School Activity Bus

The Linn-Mar Community School District is funding an after school Activity Bus for students at Excelsior and Oak Ridge Middle Schools. The bus is designed to allow students after school academic and extra-curricular opportunities without placing the burden of transportation onto parents.

The bus will run every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday that school is in session and will leave the building at approximately 4:05pm. If students are staying after school with a teacher for instructional purposes, that teacher or the student WILL contact parents in advance to make transportation arrangements.

Students who are participating in other Excelsior programs (Mentoring, Club Ed, Drama Club, GALS, Intramurals, etc) may ride home on the activity bus, but staff WILL NOT be contacting parents. In this situation, parents need to discuss the route stop number with their child ahead of time if they choose to use the Activity Bus.

STUDENTS MUST BE SIGNED INTO THE ACTIVITY BUS GOOGLE DOC BY THE STAFF MEMBER THEY ARE WITH

** The activity bus is only for students who are bused. Students who are considered “walkers” will not be able to ride **

Excelsior Middle School Club Ed

Club Ed is an opportunity for ALL Excelsior students to stay after school and get their homework done prior to going home. There is always a staff member present to help with any questions, and free drinks / snacks are provided to each student. This is NOT a club that students need to sign-up for, it is simply a “drop-in” help session.

Each day there will be a staff member there to help with math and literacy specific content.

If you have any questions regarding Club Ed, please contact Mike Shipley at 447-3152 or
