Workshop - Introduction to Tying with Deer Hair If you've ever sat down at the tying bench to tie up a few deer hair bass bugs only to be frustrated by the medium, or sat across from a deer hair tier and wondered "How did they do THAT?" then this is theclass for you. Bring your vice and tools and get hands-on experience working with deer hair.Bill will share tips on material and hook selection, adding weed guards, suggested tools, making the joints for jointed flies, trimming bugs using scissors and razor blades, and general materials handling techniques.He will cover several methods for spinning, stacking and flaring hair, including how to make those colorful rings and spots. You will come away covered with deer hair clippings and with a few moretricks in your bag.

Workshop - Classic Wet FliesCarolyn will help you develop the skills to build these beautiful effective flies. This Introduction to wet flies will cover the history of the flies, the anatomy of a feather as it applies to married wings. We will tie 4 or more classic flies including some with married wings. Bring vise, tools, and cement to this workshop. A
Bob Boese
Workshop – Foam Flys in Five Minutes, Bob Boese will show all workshop attendees how to prepare the materials in advance and then in 5 minutes -- or less -- how they can assemble a beetle, ant, hopper, chernobyl, gurgler, spideror cricket. Bob will also cover some methods for making poppers. All are effective fish catching flies. Bring vise and tools to this workshop. Basic tying skills are required.
Fred Hannie
Workshop – Tying Realistic Flies (juvenile blue Crab)-Fred Hannie Fred is famous for his construction of realistic flies. The fly planned for this session is a fishable juvenile blue crab that is durable enough to be used for many fishing trips. The process of building this fly will provide the participant with the skills necessary to build other realistic flies. Realistic flies are extremely effective where fishing pressure makes the fish more wary. All materials will be provided . Bring your own vise and tying tools. No special skills are required. Tiers at any skill level can learn the techniques. Class size is limited to 10.
Bill Heugel & Fred Hannie
Workshop 1 - Fly Tying 101, As the title suggests this truly a beginner class. You don’t need any experience or any tools or materials just interest in developing the skill. The workshop will cover tools, materials and fly patterns. Flies built during this class are truly effective fish catching patterns. Fred Hannie and Bill Heugel both experienced fly tiers will guide you through the workshop.
Bill Heugel
Workshop 1 – Bunny Flies There is no material more seductive to fish than rabbit. Its used for freshwater flies both cold and warm and saltwater flies. The workshop will include a description of the materials including how to cut you own strips from the rabbit hide as well as what’s available from suppliers. Techniques for applying the rabbit will include basic zonkers to the more sophisticated rabbit hackle technique. Bill Heugel will also cover methods for preventing the fouling of rabbit around the hook when casting. Materials will be included in the workshop but you will need your own tools and vise and thread. Techniques developed will also apply to pine squirrel material. Basic tying skills are required.
Dirk Burton
Workshop – Panfish Flies - The tussle bug ,cap spider and woolyburger, and muddler minnow are all effective flies for catching pan fish. Dirk will lead you through the material and hook selection along with the method of constructing these flies Weaving instruction is including for his famous tussle bug. Bring vise and tools to this workshop. Basic tying skills are required.
Workshop 2 – Flies for Specs and Reds This workshop will focus on the proven flies for catching the inshore saltwater fish. Clouser Minnows, Charlies, and Seaducers are all effective fish catching patterns. Materials selection, hooks and material application will all be included. When you finish this one you can get out there and catch some fish. Please bring you vise and tools to this class. Basic tying skills are assumed for this

Tying Tuffflye with a New “Soft” Acrlyic Material—Tuffflye will introduce their new “soft” product at this conclave. Learn to tie a Surf Candy and Ultra Shrimp using this new material. Materials will be furnished.
Marc Pinsel
Tying wool flies. Wool is a very special material which enables flies to be designed that essentially attain a neutral buoyancy. Marc will show you how to select the material, and apply it to the hook. There are many types of wool and each has some benefits in specific applications. Class limit 10,
