Attachments: Documentation of Multi-Year Accomplishments
Please attach a description (in the same order as the numbered criteria list below) of the outcomes the nominee has attained. This description should be no longer than three (3) single spaced pages in 11 pt. font. Three or four supporting documents may be attached such as a newsletter, campaign report, a communications piece, etc.
Criteria and Tips on Documentation
- Strong evidence that philanthropy is ingrained in all aspects of the YMCA culture (see # 2 -5).
- Demonstrate evidence of yearly growth in the annual support campaign with member involvement as a primary component (Show achievements, goals and results; growth over time, etc.).
- History of successful capital campaigns that address critical needs within their community. (Show achievement against target and how platforms have been built for future capital campaigns-building and major gifts).
- Endowment program is in place and demonstrates annual growth (Show achievements and growth over time, etc.).
- Board demonstrates 100% participation and 100% giving with a growing level of participation from staff and other volunteers. (Describe the depth of the Board of Directors involvement in development).
- Evidence that CEO (Branch Director if branch nominee) is actively engaged in all aspects of advancing and leading philanthropy within the YMCA. (List specific occasions and roles).
- YMCA follows best practices in fund raising, with evidence of success in relationship building in all operational branches. (Provide some specific examples)
- Staff and volunteers work in equal partnership to advance the concepts of philanthropy. (Show how your leadership structure supports this approach-describe key accomplishments of staff and volunteer leaders)
- YMCA has extended its fund raising excellence and influence to other YMCAs and nonprofits. (Include examples of interaction with other YMCAs and nonprofits)
- A strong case for support that positions the YMCA among the most important human services causes and worthy of support in their local community, with a clear call to action, and evidence of impact. (Describe your case).
- Demonstrate commitment to fundraising and financial accountability standards in your respective country (e.g. AFP Donor Bill of Rights, Imagine Canada Standards Program, BBB Standards for Charitable Accountability).
- Adherence to YMCA Brand Guidelines in country of origin.
